I hate saying it but he is right. I would seriously bulk up/eat as much as possible staying within your weight limits in order to salvage everything you can.

Guido: Really I thought or was told my BF% was around 16-17%.

Asylum: I know just the thought haunts me. But I plan on leaving to boot camp at 175-180 so that when I come back I'll be atleast 150-155. Also what Military branch were you in?

    Slim: Thats the plan

    Metalasian: Thanks bro

No.. you are around that. I do alot of BF measuring.. for myself and others.. both electrical impedance and using calipers....you are running mid teens easy. That's not bad.. especially when training hard.... and it is well spread out so any little change will show.

For example, every arm training article in the last ten years to improve your arm circumference has included a workout based on curls and triceps extensions. Do you really think a lack of doing curls is the reason why most guys have less than impressive arms?

Every article on how to improve your chin-ups includes a program with a shitload of chin-ups in it. Is that all you've got? Improve your chin-ups by just doing more of them?

Really fucking cutting edge that is!"

I was in the U.S. Army for 5 years. Lost just about everything in boot camp (although I didn't have much to lose at all). Had a guy in my platoon that was a former Mr. South Carolina that lost so much muscle it wasn't even funny. He came out looking just like a normal guy even though he came in HYOOOGGGEEEE!!! The military PT is just not geared towards guys with big muscles. They like the lean, mean, fighting machines.

Not to mention having about 30 seconds-5 minutes to eat doesn't help either.

No joke, my first meal in basic was only 30 seconds.

Nope, considering my recruiter told me I would have 7 minutes. I planned on that and got a rude awakening.

The time increased over the course of weeks though.

Yes, my meals averaged anywhere from 30 seconds to a full 6 minutes. You learn to eat super fast. And the portions they give you in boot camp are about the size of 2 bites worth. It sucked.

Yep. A lot of the food is laden with fat, too. I made sure to get in plenty of cottage cheese, which I learned to eat very fast. Also, make sure you are close the front of the line if you can, even though that's pretty much decided by what squad you are in. The sooner you get in the more time you have to eat since everyone finishes at the same time. Also, if they have it get the milk and stay away from the "victory punch". They put some weird sh*t in that stuff.

BTW, I went in a skinny ass mofo (127lbs) and came out about 145 with a lot more muscle. But it's true that the leaner people come out bigger and the bigger people come out leaner.

OMG that jungle juice/victory punch tasted like dogs**t in a cup. It was like Kool-aid made with salt in it. It was supposed to keep you hydrated and keep you from sucumbing to heat but I saw more people puke from it's taste then I did from dehydration. My mouth is puckering even as we speak because I can still taste that garbage.....

Thanks for all the military stories you guys, fun to read.

Chris:Thanks man, legs are becoming one of my strong points. I guess I'm 16% then not 13%.

Gutz: Thanks bro, yea back is my strongest point, but I still want to thicken my lower back make it look closer to BCC's (far far away from there).

It was a long time before we got our first meal. Seems something like 20 hours or something ridiculous like that.
