Can I have some lean muscle & strength please? – My Training Journal
Wow no one has asked any questions?
I liked the article very much. I'm looking to get the vert I used to have back and will be using this as a guideline. I do have one question though: Wouldn't it be better to do the strength exercises last? I remember reading something that says you shouldn't do plyo exercises when your legs are fatigued b/c it puts more stress on your joints and "secondary" muscles involved in the jumping motion. I know if I do the Limit Strength stuff first, I'll probably have difficulty jumping (or even just walking :-P). Thanks!
I have an interview with him on his new book which will be up around September 3rd. It's called the Vertical Jump bible. I've read it and it's definitely worth the money.

"Test all things; hold fast what is good.": 1 Thessalonians 5:21
"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

Bought it. Good read! I'm going to give the routines he outlines a try.
I have the Vertical Jump Bible, I really like it. I'm only a few weeks into the program but I've gained two inches on my vertical just from some of the tips and tricks that are in the book. Here's a Vertical Jump Bible Review to check out if you want.
I have read quite a few articles by Kelly Baggett and definitely respect the advice and information! Another way to improve speed and vertical jump, depending upon your age, would be to start a carefully designed set of plyometric and weight training exercises. Through the correct and repeated application of plyometrics, you will be able to improve not only your jumping ability but also your explosiveness and ankle stability, which is very important. The right weight training exercises strengthen your entire lower body, consisting of your quads and hamstrings, calves, ankles, and your abs.

My kung fu instructor (Si fu).
Said that when he trained his master made him dig a hole and tie cinder blocks to his feet and they had to jump in place and then one day he was eventually able to jump out of the whole with the blocks on his feet.
