Well about 3months ago i cut some tendons in my hand and messed up my leg a little bit. Next week ill be going to doctor so he can give me the OK to go back to the gym(I hope but he should say yes). What I really need to know is.
Since the tendons i ripped in my hand was my left hand its weaker then my right. Should I do the most I can with my left then do same with my right so that my arms grow evenly? Because I can do more with my right as of now so should I just do the reps/sets around my left arm?
Just how far off is it??? This happend to me when I was in 9th grade, I was playing backyard football and got clip tackled (yes i was running the ball) and hurt my wrist. I took a few months off lifting to let it heal and then I worked for a month or two just on the left wrist/bicep with dumbells. Of course I did other lifts but left the other wrist/bicep to what the other arm could do.
Well I havn't tested it fully yet b/c im not even 100% sure if i can start yet. But i lifted up some weight and it was harder with my left then my right. I only tried doing curls im pretty sure i can bench pretty evenly but havn't tested it yet. But should I work w/ my left arm, like do the most I can then just do that amount w/ my right?
Yea, but nurse it at first.... i had to nurse it so bad that I wouldnt even lift till everyone was out of the gym. DB curls with the 15's and wrist curls with like 20's - 25's.
I got some db's here at home with weights i might just do that before I get into gym. How long did you nurse it for?
A long time, somethings still wrong with it though. I get pain in it when I bench or wrist curl heavy and im goana have it looked at pretty soon. If you know that the problem is fixed and your just waiting for it to fully heal then give it a good 3-5 months before you go heavy again. You can do active rest if youd like, work it out but lightly... about or under 50% the weight you used before. You said its been 3 months... id give it another month or so before you fully test its abilitys.
To answer your question... I nursed it from that summer into the next football came and the whole way through that season. Then when we started winter lifting I tested it out and found it not to be 100% yet so I nursed it until the summer lifting program started and then it was ready to go. I still get pains in it though, they dont limit me but hurt none the less.
