1 cup cottage cheese + half scoop of chocolate protein powder = midnight snack goodness! (that's 40g of protein!!!!) I just discovered that last night- I'm uber proud of myself. (Just make sure that the cottage cheese you get isn't dry)

I was eating cottage cheese but I think I was eating the drier type, golden brown. I tried some of the white lumpier type and I mixed it with 1 scoop of whey protein and bran [as I usually do] and I added some 0-calorie "origo sugar". I don't know if it was the sugar or the different type of cottage cheese or possibly the different type of bran but something that day gave me a bad bacterial infection and my intestine is so full of gas it hurts. The doctor gave me some medicine and told me to eat nothing but udon and okayu [rice porridge], which are exactly what a person who lifts weights shouldn't eat exclusively. Anyway I hope to recover soon.

The point of this thread is use cottage cheese with caution, or maybe it was just enough to make only me lactose intolerant for the first time in my life. I'm never eating the white type of cottage cheese or origo sugar again.

1 part cc, 1 part uncooked plain oats, 1 part strawberry yogurt (or ur favourite flavour). That's the only way i can eat it.

The type of cottage cheese I usually eat, which is golden brown, is called "uragoshi". It is one texture, not lumpy like the white type. I'm sure it's cottage cheese because it says so on the package. It's light golden brown. If I had a decent picture I'd post it.

As for origo sugar, I don't know. I never saw it in America and origo has no translation when I looked it up, though the label has the picture of some plant. Anywayt I used it because it was 0-calorie, so I figured it's like the "splenda" I hear you people talking so much about.

Uragoshi just means that it's been strained, right?

I can't imagine why cottage cheese could ever be brown.

    What does it taste like?

This is the url. It tastes about the same as the white type but the texture is different. I have never tried cottage cheese in America so I don't know what it's supposed to taste like, but it looks like it's supposed to be used in making cheesecake.

Here's the nutrition info for 100g, does it look weird?
    107cal
    14.2g protein
    4.7g fat
    1.9g carbs
    370mg sodium
    55mg calcium

So, it's a solid? Not curds?

This isn't anything like cottage cheese. Your stuff is a soft ripened cheese. I have NO idea why they call it cottage cheese.

1% cottage cheese (from the USDA nutrient database) contains, per 100g:
    72 calories
    12.39g protein
    1.02g fat
    2.72g carbohydrate

I love my cottage cheese plain. On occasions I cut up an apple and scoop it with that... or through in a cut up peach.
