What do you guys think the about alternating, one week a full body routine 3X a week and then the next week doing a split routine 3X a week....and then back to the full body and so on. Has anyone ever tried something similar to this?

Im sure it would work, the best thing would be to try it out and track the progress, Shocking your body and muscles is ussualy a good thing, alot of people like to switch there routines up often for this point, Im sure you wouldnt get bored of it as quickly. Just make sure to do different muscles on the full body routine because you shouldnt be excersizing same muscles 3 times a week.

if one of the 3 days is for active recovery you sure can.
I guess trying it is the only way to see....

I would personally stay with the routine you had before this, and just switch up like on the fourth week, and do full body workouts for two weeks and switch back. To me it would seem pointless to do the strategy so early in the game, because of the progress you would get. The routine your talking about is usually used to overcome plateaus. This is just my opinion though.

Alternating two differnet routines are ok, but I really think you should stick to one for a longer period of time. Cycling the workouts does help you thru plateus but if you change them too often, your body does not have time to usefully adapt and get the full benefits out of a particular routine. If it aint broke, dont fix it. Most successful lifters/bbers stick to a basic routine for most of their careers, cycling only when progress slows up.
