I'm confused by how much vitamins you get from one serving in the multi-vitamin pill. It says like 6,000% for a few vitamins/minerals; wouldn't this be overkill? Is there something I'm missing?
The simple answer is that we feel the individual doses of each vitamin or mineral are appropriate for healthy individuals.
It just seems like it would overkill your body to have so much vitamins.
What you don't use will be expelled. So long as you're not eating vitamins like candy, no harm will come your way.
Okay. I thought you could get some sideeffects from too much vitamins, i.e. diarehha.
I've never heard of that happening before. Shouldn't be a problem.Originally Posted by PhilsterT
Could happen, but you need to remember that not all of those amounts will be absorbed. I tend to buy vitamins that have big doses of each vitamin b/c during digestion certain vitamins will compete for absorption and there are other processes taking place that can limit absorption.Originally Posted by flabbybones
is it ok to take Vitamin E while also taking a mullti?

Winners are simply people who are willing to do what losers won't.
If you are hurt, go to the doctors. It really doesn't get any simpler than that people.
Yea but you gotta watch it. You can OD on vitamin E. If you get a headache or start feeling woozy, cut back on it. I've pretty much eliminated it from my regimen, as it was making me feel crappy. I think we get enough with multis, and food.
