And where I'm staying at, they dont have a Gym. How drastic is it taking off a whole week? I mean I'll be at the Beach, so being at the pool and in the ocean I'll get that kind of cardio/fitness. Any other tips on some things I should do? I'm worried about losing my gains.....

Taking a week off might actually help. Just be careful with the binge drinking and snacks that's where it hurts.
IMO you should take a week off every now and again anyways. I do it once every 2-3months.

Yeah it's what we call the "Weightlifter Tragedy". Us weightlifters will lose all of our gains if we take a week off. Thus if we are to continue weightlifting we are condemned to never vacation. It truly is a sad, sad story.Originally Posted by ryuage

I don't know... but I would do some push-ups, crunches, and bw squats every now and then (ya know, just in case) and generally stay active. I wouldn't totally "rest" the entire vacation. I've took time off where I just sat around, I regret it to this day. But have fun, that's what is important.You're on vacation you should be able to not think about lifting.
P.S. Watch the snacks.
Take the entire week off. Your body will be stronger for it.

I took a week off once and lost 100lbs on my squat, 120lbs on my deadlift, and 60lbs on my bench! Definately need to find a gym...

Novi, i have the same problem. I am going on vacation for a week in one month and i am worried about losing strength but it seems that we are going to be ok!!!!! cool!!!
treat it as deloading week! relax and have fun... come back stronger!
ive had 3 seperate weeks away in the past 2 months. i did have intensions to do pressups etc and did do so for the first day then the alcohol took over. I just made sure i ate like a king. i havnt lost any weight. was 16,4 when i went am now 16,6 and after a week being back and getting back into my diet my strength hasnt really moved. If your spot on with everything during the year you deserve time off in my opinion.

You won't lose much, just think about it. You work all this time weeks, months, years of lifting, It wont go away in 1 week. Just relax and enjoy and let your body rest.
