Usually when my egg beaters I usually use 1 cup of it. I was just wondering is it ok to eat Egg Beaters runny? Usually when I eat them they are still wet...I mean they are scrambled but they are still liquidy. Possible to get salmonella or anything like that from them?
Also how do you guys microwave them, for those who do?
Right on the container of eggbeaters it goes on to say that you are 99% less likely to get salmonella from eating raw egg whites rather than whole eggs. Ya mine cook a lil runny too, kinda gross but its either that or over cook them.
If you are cutting, a little salmonella may help bring down the weight![]()

Egg beaters should be pasteurized, so they are fine to drink straight from the carton if you wanted to.

Cooking makes the protein in egg products more bio-available so anything raw seems like wasted food to me.

Feel free to look up what the pasteurization process does.

Or if you're too lazy: it involves heating the egg whites to 120C which both prevents salmonella and improves the bio-availability of the protein.
yeah, but isnt pasturization pretty much "cooking" the egg... I think pasturized eggs would be just fine.Originally Posted by sCaRz*Of*PaiN
More or less, yes. Cooks it, but remains liquid.

I know what it does and pasteurized is better than raw any day. You can still cook it if you want, or mix it with a shake or something.Feel free to look up what the pasteurization process does.
