I was wondering if any of you play basketball it's my favorite sport and an awesome cardio and team sport. From play defense to making a great pass it's a whole lot of fun. It's a great alternative to running which i find boring. Anyone know of an effective way to increase your verticle, right now i use "jumpsoles" although i don't believe i train enough with them. I also do a normal leg strengthing routine every week.
Specifically: Depth Jumps (also known as "Box Jumps").
You need explosive thighs, quads, and a** to hop high. You can have legs like Barry Sanders, or tiny twigs like Iverson, but you MUST be fast, twitchy, and explosive.

Basketball> all other sports, period.
Also, I agree polymetrics are the best way to incrase your vert, lifting did "squat" for mine.
I personally can't jump for ****, but I suspect that olympic lifting wouldn't be a bad idea. Those mofos can JUMP.
