since i havent been squattin/deadlifting for that long a time, i was thinkin that since theyre both goin up really fast, r they gonna help my bench press go up in any way? My bench doesnt make sense and im thinking it is because i never deadlifted or squated, so now that my deadlift has been goin up will my bench increase faster?
The big compound movements stimulate test, so your bench should go up.
Provided you continue to EAT!![]()
i dont see how it could, but if your wanting to up the bench, you'd have to concentrate on that more than the deads/squats.
eat eat eat!
A man that can only pick squats to do for 5 years will have bigger and stronger biceps then the man that can only pick barbell curls for 5 years
I believe there to be truth to this now.
Out of the night that covers me,Black as the Pit from pole to pole,I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul. In The fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance my head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears looms but the horror of the shade And yet the menace of the years finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate how charged with punishments the scroll,I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.

The stronger back from deads and bent rows will help your bench. Bent rows - bigger lats help stabilize your bench on the downward part.

I believe it. Ever since my deadlift has been flying up, my bench has been increasing more easily. I don't quite know how it works, but it does.![]()

I never seem to gain on all of the Big 3 at once. It's usually just one at a time, sometimes 2. Cycles between then.

lol I never seem to increase on much of anything but my benchnot sure if this is a good thing...
This isn't true at all. Yea if you did squats for 5 years your body would get bigger and stronger all over, but if you did barbell curls for 5 years you're gonna be damn good at doing curls. That's ALOT of direct stress on your biceps, and they will grow alot from it. Squats for five years might increase your curl strength by 15-30lbs, but that doesn't compare with the 30-60lb gain you'd likely get from curling for 5 years...Originally Posted by Doogle
Why not do both? Your whole body would get bigger and stronger, and your biceps would be bigger and stronger than they would be if you did just squats or just curls....
