    Chin grip question

What grip best works the lats?

    A. overhand little past shoulder width <--gives me some shoulder tension

    OR

    B. neutral palms facing eachother shoulder width <---smooth, but as effective as A?

There is nowhere comfotable to do underhand chins in my gym. They have no middle section for some resason.

Either grip, I try to bring my chest up first (keep my head back) concentrating on using my lats to pull me up and lower me slowly.

Right now i prefer using a neutral grip due to the fact it's a little easier on the shoulders. I can add more weight with a neutral grip too.

Neutral is good. I personally do overhand close and wide, and also neutral grip.

I find it helps to look up as you do your pullups. It will help you concentrate on using the lats and not the shoulders.

Yea, looking up is key. Like I said in my original post, I keep my head back/looking up and concentrating on using my lats to pull.
I'm going to use the nutral grip for awhile since it feels smoother to me.

Thanks for the input all. Really appreciate it.
