If it's some fur-industry thing, I think the sad reality of it is that killing it takes more time, people, and another step on the assembly line, when you can just skin it and let it die. I guess it's sort of taking the "animal as commodity" concept to the nth degree.
If I'm way off (and I might be- I'm really not opening it), then sorry for the senseless post.

**** dude, I ****ing despise PETA, and I was a lacto-ovo veggie for 7-8 years, and only started eating fish again about 2 years ago because I needed the protein and fish oil (and it's like the nirvana song- it's okay to eat fish 'cause they don't have any feelings).

You can find the Penn and Teller BULL**** about PETA on some of the video sites on the web- I highly recommend it.

They do it because they think the adrenaline makes the meat tender, and because pain and suffering is the main object of their culture. In some places in poor asia, they also skin people alive and use the skin, now thats horrible videos.

haha, they are raccoons, let them die painful deaths. every time i go to my grandpas farm i get chased by them. they eat his grain in the middle of the night, so we chase them out. they also poop all over the grain (not good for the cattle and horses) i dont know how many of us have been bitten and had to go through the painful as hell rabies shots process. i hope they all die painful deaths, those are my least favorite animals in the world.

Please actually use your brain for more than 2 seconds before posting. Do you people fail to understand that this kind of thing has been going on for tens of thousands of years and no one has ever said a thing about it? But oh no, PETA made a video of someone killing racoons, BOOOOO. How dare someone utilize a god given natural resource to survive.

Its one thing to kill and butcher an animal for food/clothing/whatever... It is a HELL of a different thing to beat it repeatedly and slowly skin it, leaving it alive for who knows how long WITH NO GODDAMN SKIN! What if that happened to you or someone you know? Could you imagine a more horrific and painful death?

Its NOT NORMAL and never has been! One of the things that makes us human is that we can see what's wrong with that, we can see that unnecissary suffering and make the decision to stop it.

I once knew a girl that got obliterated one night with the wrong crew, to say the least. Everyone was wasted and 3 kids, aged 15-19 broke shards of glass and started slicing her up.

I never knew what kinda punishement they received but I know if I saw them at the local Circle K they would of got a " HEY CHARLIE MURPHY!".
