My workout is as follows
mon:chest+abs
tues:back
wed:arms+calves
thru:legs
fri:shoulders+lats
so I want one weekday off from lifting so i feel less sore and more recovered. Between what days would be best to take a day off. I was thinking maybe chest and back day?
Are you doing your calves 2 days in a row? Or are your they not part of your legs?
well sometimes on legday. usually i just throw them in there somewhere.
The best day is the one that fits best into your schedule. Are you still gonna lift 5 days, or are you cutting back to four?

yeah, im still going to lift five. Saturday morning instead,so in other words fridays workout will be done sat. morning. But as far as recovery goes. What would be the best day to take a break?
Obviously, Wednesday. I don't see why you don't do arms on your back day and calves on your leg day -- it seems like a better organized routine.

I would do:
Mon Legs
Tues Arms
Wed Off
Thu Shoulders
Fri Back
Sat: Chest
Or you could switch Mon & Sat

well, say if i wanted the same order just a day off between one workout.
The OP is having issues with recovery and soreness, so I wouldn't suggest three days of upperbody work in a row. Switching Mon and Sat is probably a better idea.Originally Posted by BG5150
Take your day off on Wednesday, lift arms Saturday morning. If you really want to get smart about it -- and help with recovery, do an upper on Thurs, legs on Friday, and then your other upper on Saturday.
