Is there any inherit quality to having a reasonable amount of body fat in regards to gaining LBM??? (does having fat on me help me gain more muscle?)
Obviously, by having a certain BF% you keep your body from catabolizing muscle. However, it seems like I have more energy in the gym when I am carrying some fat on my belly. Is this some placebo effect? Or Is it reallly just that I'm eating enough when I DO gain fat on my belly?

I could well be that your eating more hence the gaining weight which will obviously help with energy and lifts in the gym. Also as far as im aware carrying bf does help you to hold onto lbm obviously as long as your calorie levels are at maintanance or above. you could be at 30%bf and be below maintanance and you would possibly loose lbm.

That's kind of like the chicken or the egg question.
Eating more will give you more energy. I don't believe, however, having more bf correlates with ones' having a higher energy level.
