    Your Top 3 Live Concerts

    Very simple: List the top 3 concerts you have attended in your lifetime. Include location if possible.

    Here's mine:

    1. The Eagles---->Houston, TX
    2. Elton John/Billy Joel (and I'm a straight man) ---->Houston, TX
    3. Garth Brooks---->Amarillo, TX
    **honorable mention: Pearl Jam--->OKC, OK
    I know you're half-crazy, but I wish you'd go all the way.

    I'm not much of a concert person, but I saw the Stones this summer and it was a pretty damn good show.

    Hard to narrow down the hundreds of concerts I've been to, but a couple come to mind:

    1. Allman Bros - NYC - 1972 - After Duane died, but before
    Berry died.

    2. Yes and J. Geils - NYC - 1972

    3. Pink Floyd - NJ - In between Dark Side of the Moon and
    the next album. Surround sound in
    concert.

    Also saw a lot of weird stuff. I saw Peter Frampton at Spring Valley High School in New York with about 200 other people. Six months later Frampton Comes Alive came out and he was playing MSG.

    Saw J. Geils and Alice Cooper in NJ long ago. People were standing on their chairs in the infield of the stadium and you would see one person sway and fall to the side, then the whole row would go down like dominoes. That was the end of chairs at Jersey City.

    Saw the Dead at Jersey City too - only concert where people were dancing naked and performing interesting sexual acts in the audience (Ewww).

    Saw Jethro Tull at MSG. My cousin treated me. He passed out during the first song and woke up after the concert was over. Oh well, I enjoyed it.

    1. Dave Matthews Band - Just an amazing performance, even if you're not into them.

    2. Third Eye Blind/Eve 6 - Eve 6 was the opener, and much better, but I love 3EB so they're on my list by default.

    3. Good Charlotte/Something Corporate - I can't stand Good Charlotte now, but they did put on a great show. It was after their Young and the Hopeless CD. Not their latest suckfest of an album. Cry a little more Madden. Something Corporate was amazing. Sounded just like their album in concert, and they write some great songs.

    I just saw a band called All But Screaming at a club in Cedar Rapids and they are someone I would like to see again. I can see them getting pretty big in the next few years. Their singer/rhythm guitar player only had one hand. His pick hand/arm had a tight wristband with a pick fastened to it. It was kind of neat. He played really well too.
    Best way to cheat on deadlifts...

    Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial

    1.The Dwarves- drove up to see them in DC. They played with The Bouncing Souls (who were already descending into suckdom) and the Dropkick Murpheys (who I'd seen plenty of times already). The Dwarves had been my favorite band for a long time at that point, so it was ****ing great to see them.

    2. Turbonegro/QOTSA. I didn't really care about QOTSA, although they were good (and Nick Oliveri also plays in the Dwarves), but it was incredible to be one of maybe 10 people in a packed club who were there to get their faces rocked by norwegian deathpunk.

    3. A Perfect Circle. I like tool much more, but APC put on a good show whereas tool was a little lackluster when I saw them.

    HM- The Backyard Babies were great when I saw them recently, and there were many other really good ones from my punkier teenage years.

    Slayer - Warfield, San Francisco 2004

    Seether - SF Civic Auditorium 2005

    White Zombie - Arco Arena 1996

    I have been to tons of shows, but these three stand out as best sound, performance, atmosphere, basically all elemtns of a good live show.

    I saw them at the Mississippi Valley Fair about 7 years ago and it was a great concert. And I'm not just saying that because there was a sea of boobies being flashed for 2 straight hours. But that's a definite plus when you're a teenager.
