    Brickt's Success through Self-Loathing

    Howdy.
Been a closet lurker here at wbb for ages, decided I'd cut some teeth and start a journal and posting. So, this is my journal, there are many like it, but this one is mine. I probably won't be posting the numbers I'm pushing, but may do so later in the future. Think of this space as more of a rambling/banter/rage/tragedy log

Following posts are from last couple workouts/days.

    -*-*-*-

    19/12
Today marked the beginning of my second round of DC. I just finished a 5 week blast and reluctantly cruised for a week as I was dragging **** all over the place. Gonna be doing the usual routine and stuff again, the execcises of which I am too lazy to list now, but rest assured, audience, they are the fun ones.

My order from www.ultimatephysique.com.au (Australian Online Store) arrived this morning - green tea caps, sesamin, and Metaslim B2 (a popular Aussie stimulant/fb) I dropped two GT/strong coffee before heading to the gym, and with my stimulant tolerance comparable with that off a 12 month old chimp, these blew my head.right.the.fk.off. I was in a world of my own in the gym, a world of crazy eye twitching and sporatic 'are-you-crazy-like?' rambling with my fellow gym monkeys. Pulled 3 PR's, I did, and maintained on 2. Workout was awesome, I cannot wait to try Metaslim B2 before my Wed session.

Not many things can beat a nice, thick slab of cow for breakfast. I dunno what Francis Ford Coppola was sniffing during the direction of 'Apocalypse Now,' but
the aroma of succulent medium-rare beef wafting through the house first thing in the morning is goddamn sensational. Anyways, got some quite welcome DOMS throughtout my upperbody/lowerback which hopefully will not interfere with my metaslim powered squats tomorrow. Not much else to add, just chilling to some Sonata Artica whilst watching Wife Swap U.S.A (THIS SHOW IS ABSOULUTE ****IN' COMEDIC GOLD) Oh, and, if I am not blessed with some quality slumber tonight, I shall be rather pissed.

    Insomnia is fun!

So today is the end of a 6 day work bender, now for three days rest/eating/training... then it's Christmas and.. more eating. Sweet. Woke up horribly early this morning (6am - yeah, shutup ) but, amazingly, I wasn't tired at all, even with only 6ish hours sleep. Awesome. Sometimes I swear I'm indesfrigginstrutable. The rest of the time I'm weak, skinnyfat and about as powerful as Kate Moss. Oh well.

    2 GT/2.5ml Metaslim/1000 calories later I'm at the gym.

To those who have not seen King Kong, I highly recommend you to do so. I usually tend to steer well clear of the mass-marketed, “Hollywood Epic” genre, but, Peter Jackson's Kong is a worthy remake of the original. Whilst he may not be the best director in the world, he sure is damn entertaining.

However, well-meaning parents, trying to enlighten their offspring to the wonder of film, do NOT attempt to do so with King Kong! FOR, It is: 1) a DAMN long film, clocking in at around 3 hours. 2) at times, friggin’ terrifying, in absolutely every literal sense of the word. Aracnophobics beware. 3) quite complex, utilizing some rather mature themes.

Please, if you intend to see King Kong, do so now, on the big screen. Viewing it anywhere else would be an injustice to its awesomeness. 4/5 Bigass Bananas

Whilst I’m on the topic of film etiquette (sorta), here is "Brickt’s Official Rules of Theater:”

    1) The film theater is not a social club. Refrain from talking.

    2) The film theater is not an all you can eat buffet. Refrain from purchasing anything that cannot be consumed in a manner that doesn’t remind me of a car wreck.

    3) The film theater is not a baby sitter’s club. However cute/adorable/talented your baby may indeed be, it’s crying/gibberish/questions

    Example:
"Is the monkey a girl or a boy, mummy?’
"It’s a girl monkey, jimmy; a lesbian girl monkey in an erotic jungle fever romp with Noami Watts."

Almost makes me want to spew SIDS from my eyes.

23/12: A tale of Rain, Grueling Reps, and a Giant Japanese Powerlifter named Tomo

Wow. Let me say that again. ****. Wow. What a workout.

I awoke to see the sky dark; black, angry clouds hung low over the land, the air bitter and bleak. I consumed two meals and headed for the gym, just as the rain started to fall. Little did I know what was in store for me.

The next hour was the most soul destroying workout I have ever experienced. I had to take an odyssey to hell and back for each and every rep, and the extreme stretches were complete and utter agony, like every fiber of my being was being punished by Belial and Baal. However, I decimated the logbook into oblivion; retribution for my suffering.

During the workout, a man I had never seen entered the gym. And by 'man,' I mean the biggest goddamn person I have ever encountered. Japanese in appearance, he headed over to the squat rack, and within 10 minutes, was front squatting more weight than I have ever seen on a bar before. This man was a a machine. (And an absolute inspiration at that) I could not resist introducing myself to him, and I soon learnt that this man, Tomo, was an ex-powerlifter, with 12 years experience. Awesome. He was a real friendly guy, too.

    Welcome aboard Brickt...
Aus is a great place.. went there for the 1st time this summer.. only got to see NSW though...

Is Tomo's last name Barkovic? If so, he has some impressive lifts for a man in his late 50's or so..
From the 1996 European PL Championships:
    Tomo Barkovic@46 yrs old from sweden - bodyweight 99.1kg 265.0kg Bench 182.5kg DL and 270.0kg Squat for a total of 717.5kg = 1,581.81 lbs

It would be awesome if that were the same Tomo, but nah, he didn't look 45~, more like 30.

Yeah, Aus is a nice place, you should come to QLD (Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast)

    26/12 - Merry X-Mas for Yesterday!

Hope you all had a good day and the gift givers were plentiful and generous.

Attempted to go Boxing Day sales shopping today, due to boredom as my gym was closed for 2 days - WTF IS THAT ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME SMALL?? Was in Myers for about 15 minutes before I decided the last threads of my sanity were worth more than the 50% discount on sweet hoodies. The hordes of wannabe desperate househives was horrendous. But, I did see a very hot girl I used to go to school with, made even more awesome by the fact that various softcore porn pics of her were found by my friends, through the wonders of the intarweb. Made my day, that did.

    That is all. Enjoy.

I went to supercheap and got me some bullet clips.

On another note, my home gym kicks ass. Adjustable squat rack/dip station, Incline/decline bench. That is all you need to every lift, aside from chins, I have a nice rafter for that.

    What are bullet clips?

Goddamn, I would love a homegym. No curlers, no soccer mums, no wife beaters, no nice slow ballads, no 1/4 reps, no posers. I could go on and on.

Oh, btw, do you document your diet? I'd like to see what a fellow aussie eats / supplements with?

For non aussies: Aus has strict laws about supps etc. No ephadrine, yohibine etc etc Sucks.

I don't really document my diet, thats a job 2006. As far as a standard day goes something like

    Meals:
1; Bowl of cereal (Sultana Bran or similar), Weight Gainer shake
2; Weight gainer shake, Sausage roll/sandwich of sorts + two pieces of fruit
    3; Shake
4; shake and sandwich, ham and salad
5; Pre and Post workout Shakes
    6; Dinner (variable)
    7; Shake before sleep.
**Handful of peanuts or flax seed oil with every shake.

I use BSC Mass Monster Choc toffee, a multi vit., Anabolic Colustrum (Growth factors IGF1/2), and creatine.

27/12 - The End is Nigh

Sighclops. That time of the year again. New Years. I don't think I will be able to handle the armies of soccer mums on "2006 Weight Loss Programs" at my gym, so I'm pondering working out very early, to beat the newbie rush. Thinking about setting my alarm for 4am, downing a whey+oat shake quickly, going back to sleep til 6, then hitting the gym.

Today's workout was pretty sweet. Despite the hordes of people, crappy music, and narcissists, (some guy was in the yoga room, shirt off, flexing his abs in the mirror? ) I managed to annihilate the logbook. Details are as follows, my friends:

    -*-*-
    Cable Curls [+9R] PR
    Reverse Cable Curls [+7R] PR
    Donkey Calf [+2.5KG] PR

    Stiffie's
    Light Set [+5KG] PR
    Heavy Set [+5KG] PR

    Hack Squat
Light Set [+2.5KG] PR (Failed on 18th)
    Heavy Set [+5KG] PR (**** Form )

Today's unconsential logbook fornication was proudly brought to you by Meshuggah - Straws Pulled At Random If you are a fan of Heavy Metal type music, do check out Meshuggah. Absolutly insane Swedish musicians, these guys kick serious ass. Take your favourite metal band, add a dash of lunacy, stir in some brilliant muscianship skills and then knock it up a notch. BAM! Meshuggah.
    -*-*-

Anywayas, workout would have been A+ in my books if my form wasn't a tad dodge on the Hacks. C'est vie.

29/12 - Pain is for the Weak. I am in Pain. Therefore, I am Weak.

5-6hrs sleep, Pezuzu wrecking hellish DOMS in my hams, nausea and gnawing stomach.

Ugh. Today is a bad, bad day. I feel like utter ****. Woke up way to early, starving and feeling like I hadn't slept or eaten in days, my eyes burning and my stomach churning. No amount of caffine or food could alleviate my ailements.

Regardless, today I started my new 4 day split:

    Thursday: Chest, Shoulders, Tris (Today)
Friday: Biceps, Forearms, Back Width & Thickness
    Monday: Calves, Hams, Quads
    Tuesday: Chest, Shoulders, Tris

...if that makes any sense at all.

    -*-*-*-
    Incline Press [+4R] PR
Standing Military Press [+1R] PR, but +1 rep is pathetic.
    Skullcrushers [+0] Maintained

I have never felt so ill in the gym before, every rep summoning bile to my mouth. I am thankful that for this split, for if I had to do rackpulls today, I would have done a Regan MacNeil all over the place. So here I am now, slowly sipping my shake, trying to hold it all down.

    -*-*-*-

Anyhows, I picked up Silent Hill 2 for XBOX the other day. 2nd hand and on special, score. This game, combined with insomnia, is going to ensure that I never sleep again. Joy.

Also, I ****ing hate ****'s that waste my time, trying to reverse their cars into carparks. **** you.

That is all, I'm going to ring the ER now.

    30/12

I'm feeling awesome today, the antithesis of yesterday, where I felt like I was going to die. Got to the gym only to find that the ****ers were closing in 25 minutes; penultimate day of 2005, my ass. Ended up mucking around just with some rack pulls, going fairly light, which was probably a good idea seeming as I'm riddled with some wicked DOMS.

Anyhows, I've been seriously thinking about my split, and I've decided to drop DC training. It is an insanely brutal program, and that, coupled with insomnia, stress, caffine overdosing and the mysterious mental disdorder I'm sure I'm harbouring, is deep frying my CNS. Been lurking around some threads and gonna start something along these lines. Probably add some isolation exercises for the ego, too.

    Upper 1
    BB Flat Press
    Standing MP
    Supine Grip Pulldowns
    BB Rows

    Lower 1

    V-Bar Rows

    Lower 2
