    Decreased Appetite

I've been having problems eating the last week and I have no idea why. I have no appetite, and the thought of food makes me sick to my stomach. I haven't been eating garbage, so I don't think I'm sick from eating junk food. But I forced myself to eat a big breakfast before work at the gym this morning, and it made me feel like I was going to throw up. Maybe I'm pregnant

Does anybody go through this? It's really throwing off my energy levels and making it hard to put on any weight or lift with any type of intensity. I'm going to work out in about 2 hours and I have nothing in the tank.
Best way to cheat on deadlifts...

Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial

Nope. Other than the appetite, I feel fine. I have no cold symptoms, body aches, or any of the other fun stuff that comes with the flu. I'm going to get another meal in and come back to the gym around 4:00. Hopefully I'll have a little more energy.

sometimes I dont feel like eating because the samething gets old.. but I just sit there with my water and push it down. I always feel like throwing up, mostly when I eat eggs thats the worst.. but just try to force it down with water thats what I usally do.. not gonna hurt to try.

I had this and it lasted for months and I ended up loosing a lot of weight. The way you describe it is the exact same way it was. I only ate once a day and even then I coudn't finish a full meal.

In my case, I was sick of eating food. I must have been burned out on it like you are... You can get burned out on good or junk food. I would almost consider it a blessing, unless you are trying to bulk.

Edit ** And it looks like you are trying to bulk... ouch, no good.

I've had periods where I feel like that, I could eat a bit here and there but my appetite wouldn't be there and I would feel nauseous after certain foods (fatty/fried foods). It's strange but it seems to go away. It may be some kind of stomach virus or something that doesn't cause huge deals of pain. I've never spoken to my doc about it... Mention it to your doc and see what he says.

Are you currently cutting or bulking?

Being a person with probably the most stupid stomach ever I go through the same thing every summer, I dont knwo if its a cultural pressure to look good in a bathing suit or whatever but I just loose my appetite completely and have to literally force myself to eat.

When you eat do you eat till your stuffed or till your not hungry?
Are there certain foods in particular that make you feel more sick then others?
Have you noticed your stomach is having a bad reaction to certain foods?

If you answer those questions we could help you out alittle better, I now a lot of people who would eat until they were so stuffed they couldnt even sit anymore and ended up making their stomach, well the best way I can describe it, reject food. I only eat until Im not hungry and I eat REALLY slow (ask Deeder he can verify for me) and it helps my stomach problems a tonne! Usually my recommendation is to make sure you are eating 3-5 meals a day and lots of snacks, eat them slow and only until your not hungry anymore. Eventually you will start getting hungry again, but then its a good idea to stick with those eating habits. I have to be really careful with my stomach, I have IBS and two hereditary stomach diseases run in my family; chrones and celiac disease (both of which I will know if I have within the next 5-8 years).

Eat slow, eat often and just keep eating even if your not hungry.

I go in spurts and it sucks. And yes, I'm trying to put on weight, with absolutely no success. I have actually lost weight over the last few weeks.

Ruffian - I have a stupid stomach as well. I had a lot of issues with my stomach growing up and had to visit a few specialists. I used to have a very weak stomach, although it's much better now that I'm older. But I still get ruts where food seems like the enemy.

To answer your questions. I try to eat every 2 hours, snacking sometimes inbetween. When I feel fine, I can pack it in until I'm stuffed and then be hungry again in 30 minutes. It's nuts. My friends and family always joke about how much I can eat. They'll be working on dessert and I'm still on my 3rd helping of the main course.

Really it's been the thought of eating or even the taste of things that's making me sick. More than likely it's mental, or I need to eat more of something that I'm not already.

Hmm... what kind of stomach issues have you had? For me it is a seasonal thing, like some people get seasonal depression I justloose my appetite every summer. However since youa re in the middle of a bulk I could see two possibilities.

    1) Psychological - you dont really want to bulk (in your head that is) and you arent liking the way you look as you are getting bigger

    2) physical

My recoomendation however is to do what I said, eat slow and only eat until your not hungry anymore. If you pack your stomach and then leave it for two hours and pack it again it can become very trying. Also another thing (which I try to do one a year when my stomach gets badk), even though it might not be ideal for what you are trying to do, go on a 24 hour fast. Dont eat any solid foods, I find it helps to 'restart' my stomach and usually reverses whatever stomach problems I have been having within a matter of hours.

    I know you're half-crazy, but I wish you'd go all the way.
