can i get down from 13% bodyfat to 6% in 9 weeks?
workout 4 days a week
cardio (HIIT, morning jog, jump rope) 3 times a week
eating about 2500 calories a day
can it be done? is what i ask of thee....
BTW im not taking any supplements except whey protein, and maybe creatine. I might consider some caffine pills but even then i doubt im going to take those.
yes i will take the right amount of protein, fats, carbs etc. Im just wondering if this is even feasable...

Anything is possible, but I am going to say that realisticly, it isn't going to happen. Fat seems to come off slower once you hit the 10% mark or so... But, who knows, it might be possible.Originally Posted by Jordanbcool

why is 6% the magic number?
Ill give you 2 weeks until you burn out and figure out that you arnt getting to 6% in 9 weeks, let alone 6 months.
Ill also guess that around the same time you find out your not getting to 6% bf, you stop comming to this site
I'll take you up on that. I've been working out consistantly for the past 7 months now. Dieting (bulk diet mind you) for the past 3 months. If you have nothing positive to say or anything constructive for that matter keep it to yourself. It was a simple question and as i stated earlier i didnt expect to get down to that low a level. This is just the first time i've actually cut with such a small time frame. Last year i cut successfully and lost 30 pounds, and is why i got into weight lifting. However i did that over a span of 4 months, and this will only be two. Constructive critisism is what i was really looking for dude, not blatent flaming.Originally Posted by accuFLEX

I don't have time. I make time.
No. Unless you stopped eating now and sacrificed half the muscle on your frame...

6% is very close to pro bodybuilder levels. You will not get that low unless you go on a starvation diet, and then you would lose a lot of muscle.Originally Posted by Jordanbcool
O ok, thats cool. I actually dont want to get THAT lean. I seriously thought pro body builders got into the 2%-3% range. Well does anyone know lee priest? The famous mr. olympia body builder. Im sure you guys know of him. Anyways, he diets for less then 14 weeks (not sure the exact date) and look at him. He is totally ripped. It is a dramatic body change in such a small amount of time. But maybe he takes supplements, or pretty much starves himself to get so low so quickly. Anyways has anyone seen American history X? You know edward norton in that movie??? I would like to get as lean as him, what percentage would you guys say hes at (anyone thats seen the movie mind you). Hes not ripped but he looks pretty damn good (im straight by the way i just marvel at how he changed his body so dramatically). Let me know ASAP so i can start now or wait a little bit later.Originally Posted by ExtremeAnabolic

Pro bodybuilders take a wide range of steroids, and many of the things they take are to help the body function at such a low body fat level. When you're at 4-5% body fat things stop working.Originally Posted by Jordanbcool

I figured that much. Eh, o well maybe 9% body fat is a much better goal.Originally Posted by HahnB
Yeah, we you get to 4% make sure you tell us about how you get sick very often, you can't get it up, are too tired to get out of bed, and your nemesis is now the dairy aisle.
9% is a much better goal.
IIRC, Edward Norton looks to be about ??10%?? in American History X?

Poo is also LBM - The Built
How long it will take you to drop a certain BF% depends on how much you weigh.
Someone who is 300lbs looking to drop 6% has to lose 18lbs of fat, while someone who is 100lbs looking to drop 6% only has to lose 6lbs of fat.
If you want to look ripped, put on some muscle first and then worry about cutting.

I am in a bulking phase right now!Originally Posted by Jorge Sanchez
Ok at the moment i weigh exactly 180, im 5"7. That sounds like alot for how high i am but when i tell people how much i weigh they usually fall over! Once someone told me i weigh 140 at the most! Anyways it was really flattering but when one of my best friends (that i havent seen in a while) told me i was skin and bones i decided to start putting on some weight again. That was like 2 weeks ago and im seeing pretty good progress. I really dont think i have much fat to lose, the only thing i have is a small stomach. So yea, im going off topic but i weigh 180. However i know i have a fat percentage above 10% cus i cant see my abs, but like i said i have a small stomach so 13% is a rough guesstimate.

p.s. since i've been bulking i've added another blood vein on my right arm. it bulges when i curl, you all might not think thats a big deal but i do!

It's impossible to know the answer without the informaton Jorge asked for.
Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. At some point in your lifting career (assuming you're planning on getting reasonably strong and big), you're going to have to accept that most people think you are some kind of freak." -Sensei
"You're wrong, and I have a completely irrelevant pubmed abstract that may or may not say so." - Belial
I has a blog.
I has a facebook.
If someone guessed I weigh less than I do I wouldn`t take it as a compliment.
But as for your question. You want to lose 7%BF (from 13 to 6%). 7% of 180 is 12.6lbs, so you need to lose about 2lbs of fat/week if you want to do it in 6 weeks. I really doubt you will be able to lose 2lbs of exclusively fat every week. And then there`s the loss of water weight and glycogen, so in reality your looking at losing more than 12.6lbs and probably closer to 20lbs in 6 weeks, which is going to be detrimental to your LBM.

My original figure was to be able to lose 10 pounds, i'd be happy with that. So yea, that sounds about right. Also i'll weigh a little bit more because im going to continue to bulk up for another two months (hence my two month dieting). Water weight comes off VERY easily, so i think i'll be fine. Worse comes to worse i'll have to diet an extra month.Originally Posted by Jorge Sanchez
Hey i was happy when someone said that, i used to be huge. It also shows that, muscle really does weigh more then fat.
EDIT* i have also noticed that even though i am gaining weight (about a pound a week) i have become more defined. Believe it or not but i can actually see my abs better then i ever could while dieting (the top row ONLY mind you)
