im about 5'8 , that squat was parallel. i can squat about 500 on a box squat or more but i dont usually like doing that because its alot of wieght to handle and usually i dont have good spotters, and its not nearly as good as parallel

I believed you till I saw this, people dont squat more on a box than they do without, unless your box is like 20 inches high.

Like everyone else said, don't be worried about recording it. I would like to see it, a 14 year old putting up that weight is pretty damn good.

Damn... that's really good for your age! I would give suggestions, but I honestly don't think you need any if you can do all of that at 14 When I was 14 I had just started lifting and I didn't even know what a deadlift was.

Why not? We have 15 year olds around here pulling up more than 300 on DL. What's a year?

I've seen many 14-15 year olds do 500lbs on a BFS box squat. It is a very, very high box squat... I have a lot of issues with BFS and, in particular, their approach to box squatting...
A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

i dont see the huge gain in doing the box squatting either...i go lower than most on it but the only reason i do it is because i have to for phy ed class

Box squats are a good exercise when done properly on a decent box that is at an appropriate height. The problem that I see with a lot of BFS box squats is that:

*the boxes they use are small (in surface area), so most kids literally set their heels against the box so they won't miss the box with their ass, and then they sit STRAIGHT down with their knees shooting forward excessively and their heels rising off the floor.

*spotters are encouraged to assist the lifter and the back spotter often "assists" by holding onto the bar and rocking the lifter

*the boxes are usually too high for most people 6' and below. The lowest box is not low enough for most people 5'10" or below if they want to squat below parallel.

*weight and rep progression is emphasized WAY too much (with little to no attention to the form issues I've already mentioned)...
