    College Drinking

Aight for those of you who don't know I'm in college. Freshman year I didn't go out that much because the dorms that I lived in were far from where most parties were. Now I am living in a place surrounded by constantly partying.
Anyway I've found that I'm drinking like at least 4 days a week and when I drink I keep drinking. When I'm buzzed or faded I just figure "hey let's have another drink and see where the night takes me". The thing that makes me a bit uncomfortable is a.) sometimes I wake up with little recollection of how I got home and b.) naturally sometimes I do stupid stuff when I'm drunk. I'm asking myself what good that part of the night was that I don't remember and in the end while I like experimenting with getting drunk I don't like the idea of being a ****show.

So my question is: do you guys think it's alright to indulge in this type of behavior while in college? I mean I'm looking around at my friends and they all do the same sort of thing. The fact of the matter is that I just finished midterms and don't really have any responsibilities, other than personal training, for at least a month. Obviously drinking a lot isn't healthy for the body but outside of that is it wrong to always be getting trashed? How about you other guys in college, is it the same for you guys?

I keep on telling myself that I'll limit my drinking but when I'm at a party and the alcohol is free I always end up saying "hey why not?". Bleh.

i think i college, indulging is ok, cause 1 your young, and hell college only comes areound once, you can always retake a class but you can never relive a party

but what i can say is be smart, learn your limits, and keep DD's, and **** it and have fun man, im bout to graduate in december and when i sit back and think of all the beer and drank and workouts ive done, some times simutaneously, i can honestly say i have no major regrets

If I really wanted to, I could go to a house party a week around here or atleast DT). It's somewhat hard because a) im cutting b) i hate being hungover c) money d) study

Im a first year student and univeristy is soooo much harder then high school. I did dick all during high school. Now I really DO have to work. So for me, a lot of my nights are spent working at the books.

When I do drink, its not that much. A flask at most. But still, the next day I might get an hour of study done.

Next year im gona try and work harder sun-thur. and take friday off and party, sat. to get over a hangover.

yeah, I say party while you still can. personally, it's almost the end of my 3rd year and i'm a little burnt out on drinking.. hangovers hit me hard and mess up my diet, so I'm taking it a little easier now. I don't regret the fun times I've had in the past and I still go to parties, I just don't drink as much now. If you're still able to stay on top of everything else, I don't think it's that bad for you (not counting the health risks)

im in college and i "party" but i have limits. i never go out sun-thursday nights. friday and saturday, i do whatever i damn well please, unless i have a big paper or test on monday, then i dont let myself get crazy on saturday night. its not really that hard. just learn self control. getting wasted 2 nights a week is plenty for me anyways.

btw, you are lucky that you have these parties with free alcohol. i have yet to be to one of those.

Im not paying 50,000$ on an education or better to have it scewed by that kind of behavior. Im not aginst drinking, but your at school for a reason....

After you get out you can do damn well what you please without your future hanging in the balance.

And what your doing is in excess... drinking over half the week and getting that ****ed up is harmful to your body. Drinking moderately once or twice over the WEEKEND is still bad for you but much more acceptable.

Its up to you, ask yourself how much your $50,000+ is worth to you... more importantly your future

^ I agree with you mostly but I figure as long as the drinking isn't entirely interfering with my ability to get good grades and learn the stuff I need to learn then it's not as much of a problem.

Although I wouldn't and didn't drink quite as often as you appear to be, I'd say live it up. When you're older (and this is advice my boss keeps feeding me - he's 33), you'll wish you had done all that stuff when you were young. When you got a family/kids/etc., you probably won't have the time to do that...at least not until they can finally start looking after themselves =P.

If I lived in the middle the partying I would go crazy, I would treat women like I treat beer, opening them up and enjoying my self.

I'm a freshman and didn't start drinking until my high school graduation (personal choice). Drink it up as long as it: A) doesn't kill me, B) doesn't cause me to lose HOPE scholarship, C) doesn't get me arrested

always make sure of a few things...your grades are gonna be ok, you have a sober ride, and you dont hook up with an ugly girl

other than that just live it up man this is gonna be over in a blink of an eye and then no more college life

I often have the same problem when I drink. But my philosophy is if you`re going to do something stupid, you might as well not remember it. Just watch out for the beer goggles - they`re a killer.

I don`t think there`s anything wrong with it, as long is it is actually what you want to do and you`re not just doing it because there`s a party and everyone else is getting hammed.

Like everyone else said as long as it doesn't create problems then you ok. Alcohol tears me down. I feel like hell the next day, I have no appetite the next day, and no motivation to do anything. That pretty much keeps me from drinking too much. I drink maybe once per week that's about it.

Dude, party during the summer, breaks and long weekends. You are in school to educate yourself for your future. Knowing how many beers you can shotgun will not get you far in life. I'm not saying skip out on the parties completely, just use your head. If you fall behind at all in any of your classes, it's time to reconsider your priorities.

You are exhibiting signs of more than just living it up.

I would slow down a little.

A nice test - the next time you go out, drink 3 beers. Don't have the 4th (or any other alcohol). If you can't do that, then you need to take a hard look at your behavior.
    Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. Just don't drink as much when you go out, man. I always milked my rinks when going out. Usually no one ever really notices. When I drink I also think about my muscles deteriorating and fat increasing, lol.
