Give me some good techno songs

Call it techno, trance, electronica, or whatever. I want to know what some of the best songs (of all time) from this genre are. I've heard a lot of good ones but have no idea what the name of the songs are etc. Naturally I always hear some of the really popular ones these days ie "Call on Me" or "Satisfaction".

Anyway I want to know from some of you who follow this genre, what are some of the very good ones that I should have in my music library?

I'm not too versed in it... I'll tell you though, anything by Tiesto is a winner for sure. Now, you can also PM Hatred and he'll have a ton of answers for you. He's been into techno for a long ass time.

    Kraftwerk - Autobahn
One of the first and still one of the best. Not really a dancin' song though.

There are so many flavours and subgenres of electronic music today that you really need to be more specific. If you can provide some examples of songs you LIKE as opposed to stuff you've heard as popular, the technoliterati here can no doubt set you up with a whole raft of recommendations.

A good starting place for FREE and LEGAL electronica mp3s?

Out of the night that covers me,Black as the Pit from pole to pole,I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul. In The fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance my head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears looms but the horror of the shade And yet the menace of the years finds, and shall find, me unafraid. I'm not a techno fan, by and large (although I might start checking into some stuff because I LOVE prog), but Prodigy's "Fat of the Land" is great from beginning to end. I used to bump that **** all day back when I got my first big car stereo! LOL!

I'm going to have to go with the old school and recommend Platipus Records Volume 1 and 2. They're compilations of tracks put out by the Platipus label from the mid/late 90's.

Otherwise I'd go with Tiesto or something. Man, I've got tapes of Frankie Bones, Einstein, Keoki and a bunch of other DJs spinning trance, hardcore, ect... live @ parties and raves. I wish I had some way to put them on my computer. I don't even have a tape deck in my house anymore!

Heathen! Those are three very distinct genre and aren't interchangeable. I can deal with trance, sometimes even enjoy it, but techno gives me a headache. Electronica can be cool. House is my personal passion.

Techno is Awful. Trance is what I was raised on and will always be my favorite.followed by Jungle,House And Tampa Breaks.

In high school I discovered techno. In early college I discovered trance, and later in college I got hooked on house. Hooked on house works for me. I like dark, vocal, hard, fast, tribal, some pots-and-pans can be great also. Think Victor Calderone, Chad Jack, Junior Vasquez, Abel, Tony Moran...
Some great CD's to check out (preview them in stores or on iTunes)
    Abel- Alegria and Alegria Musica
    Victor Calderone- Resonate
Junior Vasquez- Twilo vol1, Earth Music, Earth Music 2, White Party 7
    Tony Moran- Tour de Beats

I like Britney Spears. But only pre-baby machine version. Her songs are totally awesome.

Vol. 1 is the best. The later prog. sessions all sounded sort of the same though.

LOLOL pots and pans done right (in small doses) can be AWESOME! I've only seen Junior and Tony Moran do it well. I've heard other DJ's attempt it but usually they fail miserably.
