Has anyone got results from hi rep benching? 25 reps +?

Have been doing high reps on falt barbell bench press using low weights.

Have worked up to 26 reps on 60KG with bar touching chest.(I weigh about 69 ish) I seem to get a better pump than when I lift heavier and have noticed my guns are growing and think I will avoid injury this way.

I am thinking to aim for 30 reps, has anyone done high reps on barbell flat bench and what results?

Also how could I calculate my 1 REP Max based on 26 reps on 60Kg?

    Cheers

    Tim

You could not with any accuracy.

High rep work is good for endurance, but you are necessarily limiting strength and hypertrophy gains if that is all that you train.

Sounds like you are getting nooby gains...
I don't think you will have long term strength and size gains...
But you will have a lot of endurance..

I do high rep (20-ish) training twice per year... just to exploit some of those smaller caps and see what kind of endurance I have.. it's interesting for various sporting activities..

However, I do high reps on Squats once every 4-6 weeks.. nothing like a 20-30 rep Squatting session.. talk about being light-headed and want to throw up... :-0

Good luck with your testing... not sure what your goals are though..

    I think quite the opposite.

Yup, 20 rep squats are brutal. First time my legs have hurt in a while. I dont usually get sore after training but DAMN!
