    Bulking before summer

I'm just starting a bulk but id like to do it until the first or second week of may, giving me time to cut hard for summer. Is it worth bulking for 4-5 weeks? Ive havent been exactly bulking or cutting lately but I have been doing a lot of cardio and my gains have pretty much dropped off. My goal is just to pack on some muscle then lean out by the beginning of june for summer. Any ideas? and please, for christ sake, dont just say get a huge fork.

you should bulk all the way through summer, through the fall, the winter, and next year. Keep bulking and eating. You are here because you Wanna Be Big.

there is nothing wrong with a short bulk. Don't put on too much bad weight during the bulk, or you'll just need to cut more afterwards. You can easily add 5-7 good lbs over the next months.

3rd poster sounds good, you need to cut if you want to look better with your clothes off, and I dont think theres a real healthy way to drop that much weight in such a short period.

Doh, so is what I said false then? Does losing/gaining weight to fast have any detrimental effects?

Dude, what he's (cphafner) saying is that what the OP wants to do is possible, and the best way for him to go about it is to not gain too much fat while on the bulk because that fat will have to come right off during the cut, thus requiring more time during the cut.

In the end you do whatever you want, but if you want advice I'd pick either a bulk or a cut and stick to it. Your probably not gonna gain as much as you want in only 4 - 5 weeks. Yes, you'll probably add some mass, but who knows if it'll really be enough to notice.

First of all, if you wanna pack on mass I'd drop all cardio. There's really no reason at all to be doing it. Secondly, you should look into a clean bulk. If you watch your diet carefully, you can still successfully bulk and keep your bodyfat about the same. Your gains will be slower, but you'll still keep the body you want for summer.
