I drink 48 eggwhites daily.. which is equivalent to 1.5L. Can anybody sees a reason why I should choose another source of protein instead of eggwhites??

Ummmmm...cost? Where do you bbuy all them eggs?
You DRINK THEM? Raw?-------
I am sending flowers to your funeral now as we speak...
Secondly if the botulism doesn't kill you, the
85 mgs of sodium per egg white might....
Would these be two good enough reasons not to use that many egg whites?
Budiak, cost 2.50$ Cdn for 500ml -> 50g protein
MissAbs, yes raw.. but they're past./homo. so I'm ok on this.
You think the sodium would be a good reason? I stopped taking Tuna because of mercury.
The only alternative would be Protein Shake.
btw, thanks for the flower.. just got them![]()

I thought you were eating 3 tuna sarnies a day no?
I would vary your protein types more each day you seem to stick to one type and eat alot of it. Combine a few different sources each day and you wont have to worry about eating to much of one type of protein.
eating over 13-15 raw eggs a day will destroy a vitamin called boitin and if you are deficiant in this vitamin you could become depressed.
Oh yeah forgot about the biotin issue..good point Ronan.
Cool on the "saftey" of the eggs, those things scare the life out of me.
I under stand the statistics that Paul said, however I am always concerned that it would be that one egg that shows up in my kitchen...
Ronan, the Tuna went bye bye.. I was tired of forcing it into my body and mercury was there to support the decision. Thanks for letting me know about the vitamin, I'm a bit depressive lately, I hope the eggs don't have anything to do with it. The reason I'm not varying my protein is because
1. I must buy the cheapest for my budget
2. I'm a bit lazy & short on time, don't feel like cooking more meat than I already am.
I'm going to order some protein powder I guess.. anybody can show me some good 5pound offer online?

Sinep, the carton eggs aren't any cheaper than whole eggs, and it doesn't take much effort to boil eggs. That way you might get the benefits of egg protein and avoid the downfalls of eating them raw.

Too hard cook eggs without ruining most of the protein
Boil water to about 185-190 degrees. Put a teaspoon of salt and a few tablespoons of vinegar into the water.
With a candy thermo, make sure the temp is at a constant 190. Put the eggs in there and let them sit for 25 minutes. They will be hard but not rubbery like regular HBE. The sal will also be killed.
geez Sinep ..... no wonder you posted that thred on Poopies .... I bet you havent been for weeks .... don't all them eggs bind you up ???
Like Ronan said .... I would get protein from a variaty of meals to ensure your getting a good balance of all essential amino acids.
I agree with ya though .... apart from Human Flesh ... I believe eggs are the best form of protein.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't an egg contain all essential aminos and have the highest biological value of all non processed foods? If this is true, wouldn't it be fair to say it is the BEST source of protein?
Facebook - BW166 SQ585 BP405 DL660 CL310
yeah Eggs are. They do contain all essential amino acids, but some more then others. To get a full balance it would be wise to consume mutiply sources.
I've read a couple of funny articles that argue that Human flesh would be the best source of protein for muscle building.

L: i was under the impression that whey was the best protein souce cause it has the best amino acid profile and according to some magazines, and a 154 Bv. Eggs have 100 (or something like that)

Whey probebly is BUT ...... the rapid digestion causes almost half the aminos to be oxidized in the liver rather then Utilized by the liver.

That's why I said non processed, Bert. Whey protein doesn't grow on trees, it's processed from milk.

1. Biological value is measured by measuring protein byproducts. The more by products in the urine, the less protein is being absorbed by the body (ie. muscle and other tissue). Thus, if whey has the highest biological value then that means the highest proportion of it is absorbed. I assume that if protein is oxidized in the liver, the byproducts would show up in urine. Anyone who knows for sure please help.
2. Essential amino acids are:
(Tryptophan, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylaline, Threonine, Valine, Leucine, IsoLeucine)
Here are some protein's along with their essential amino acid profile per 10 g of protein:
Chicken...(117,850,277,397,422,496,750,528)
Milk.........(134,752,240,459,428,635,930,574)

Egg is highest in Methionine and Threonine but not by much.

What do you mean oxidised? (excuse my incompetance)Originally posted by YatesNightBlade

If you mean broken down and used for energy, surely that would only happen if you didn't eat any carbs with it?...
