    Kegerator Problems

I have a major problem with my kegerator... NO BEER
I hooked up a keg the other day after having the system disassembled for cleaning. When I turn on the CO2 I can hear it pressurize the keg, but no beer dispenses, not even air. I took it off the kegerator and put on a pump tap and it worked fine, so I know the keg is good. I know the problem is with the coupler (american sankey), but not sure what it could be. I can't seem to find a exploded diagram of the part. HELP - I just wanna drink.

This is the system I have:

Good thing it worked out. What kind of beer you got there?

I usually get whatever I'm in the mood for at the time, anything from Beast to Budweiser. Currently I have for good ol (cheap) Busch Light.

    Busch Light is money.

Usually about $15 cheaper than Bud Light and it tastes almost exactly the same in a keg. Nobody can ever tell the difference.

From my personal experience Busch Light, Busch, Beast, and Bud Light all taste about the same out of a keg. If you spend the money for Labatt, or Killians you may taste the difference.

    .... Now I'm thirsty

hey Genacide. im actualy in the process of building a kegerator of my own.

my question for you is do you have a dual gauge regulator on your kegerator or just a single? is a dual gauge really necessary?

also how much psi do you run to your light beers? i heard running 18psi works best

It sounds like it could be the coupler

:withstupi I'm guessing it's the check ball retainer.

Have you checked the check ball retainer?

After reading post #2, I'm going to wager a guess that your coupler is missing a check ball retainer??

This is align with my theory as well. From what I've heard, and I haven't heard anything, the Deluxe Door Mount Kegerator Conversion Kit has issues with the check ball retainers missing in the coupler. A simple fix to say the least, however.

I run 8-10 PSI in my kegerator (also the CO2 tank in is the refrigerator). I know the recommended PSI is 12-14, but at that level I get a lot of foamy beer. The beer may go flat a little faster, but not usually a problem for me.
I have a dual guage regulator which is nice to see both tank pressure and line pressure, and would recommend one. You don't want to be half way through a keg and run out of CO2.

    Here is a nice FAQ:
