    Pain by my left elbow

I'm getting a pain behind my left elbow when benching/pressing. It feels as if something is strecthing, or about to pop. It's on the "inner side" behind my left elbow, right next to the bone.. I only feel it when i'm contracting/pushing the weight up. It's not a stinging/burning feeling, but it's very uncomfortable.. to the point where I have to stop in the middle of a set. I'm pretty sure it's not my form.

I use to feel this every once in a while before, but it's been happening a lot more lately and really interfering with my workouts. Any thoughts?

*also, the popping is much more prevalent when doing seated pressed

Tell me something, is it actual PAIN or discomfort?

I experienced something similar, feeling like it was about to pop. But it was only discomfort, and if its not actually painful and more discomfort, it will pass.

it's more discomfort then pain. i don't think this is something worth making a trip to the doctor for.

i also get the same feeling (but not as often) in my shoulders.. except in my shoulder i can actually hear a popping/cracking noise.

I'm going to put more effort into stretching/warming up my elbow/shoulders before i do the exercises.

Keith, i never thought much of it before, because like you said, it did pass.. but it's been very persistent lately

Could possibly be tricep tendonitis. Sounds very similar to what I had.
My brother and I were brutal. I once chased him around the house with a spoon that I put on the burner. I burned that little pricks leg. -sharkall2003

Sounds like tendinitis. I get it every time I do upright rows and sometimes when I do preacher curls.

Try some Ibuprofen, massage it often (just take a finger and rub over it for several minutes a day) and either ice or heat. I know a lot recommend ice, but ice never knocks it out for me, whereas heat does.
