The Greatest Wrestling Match of All Time

Hahhahaha I was too young for that one I think.

I liked the Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels that was Bret's last match. An emotional one.

People can say what they want about "professional" wrestling but I have tons of great memories as a child watching this stuff. Sure we all know it's pretty much all fake but aren't most things that we watch on TV? I swear WWF is/was just a young man's form of the soap opera.

Edit: Awww man it was a bit edited. Still, Hogan was a great entertainer and you gotta love his facial expressions, etc.

Hogan is 6'8" and Andre is 7'5", says the announcer?

Jeeeeez. They could at least make the exaggerations consistent.

Great match tho. I liked his feud with Killer Khan better tho.

And when Hulk fought Ultimate Warrior... that was my fave.

I remember renting the tape and being so excited to watch it on my birthday. It was the match of my childhood as well!

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

Well, you didn't specify Professional Wrestling...
So I gotta say the greatest match ever was when I won the TVL Championship.. coach needed me to jump up a weight class, so we could take the team championship.. I pinned my way though 4 wrestlers all weighing 15 lbs more then me. HAHA.. I thought I owned the world...

Otherwise, either this match or when the Ultimate Warrior beat Hogan (b/c he never lost) were the best/favorite of all time.

As for amateur.. either when Rulon Gardner beat that undefeated Russian ... or when Cael Sanderson won his fourth NCAA championship, going 159-0 in college.. that was amazing.

As a Hulkamaniac, I hated that match!!

Hogan pinned Warrior for several seconds, but the damn ref was out. Then Warrior lands a couple cheap shots and the ref wakes up and Warrior wins. BUT EVEN IN DEFEAT, Hogan remained a class act and personally handed over the belt and congratulated Warrior. The man is an all-American.

Coco Beware vs. Brutus the Barber was much more influential on the development of WWE (WWF).

Who are these Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant people you talk of.

WWF wrestlemania in my opinion is NO where near "one of the greatest matches." hulk did a bodyslam. that was all.

My favs Masato Tanaka vs Mike Awesome @ HEatwave 98
Hayabusa Kenjii vs Rob Van Dam and Sabu

    any WCW jericho,rey,benoit(or ecw),dean malenko,Tommy Dreamer, SUper Crazy,New Jack,THe Pitbulls,Rhyno in ECW,...the list goes on.

watch any match by any of them, and tell me WM 3 didnt suck ass.

    and hogan was 6'6.

Read the thread title! It was THE GREATEST WRESTLING MATCH OF ALL TIME. This isn't up for debate.

I wonder what the real stats on those two are?

I remember thinking that assisted or not you'd have to be godly strong to pull off that slam.

Hulk Hogan was a real beast no doubt. And he really is 6'6. Andre was 7'4. He didnt stop growing until the day he died, which is why he died.

Andre was bigger then the big show.
