    Am I a panzy if.....

I get sick to my stomach when I witness or watch a bareknuckel fight? I just watched the Gannon vs. Kimbo and I felt really sick throughout the entire thing. Does anyone else get this kind of feeling?

The sad thing is my handle is FighterInSnatch

    I get that feeling if:

    a) I see a gang beating
    or
    b) someone gets attacked and doesn't defend themselves

I absolutely cringe if I ssee fighting in person because it's too ruthless for me.

    b) someone gets attacked and doesn't defend themselves
I would say it depends on how you defend yourself. I think curling up somehow to block/lessen the blows is good, because an offensive defense can agravate the other person even more. It all depends on the situation.

Something like this is what I was talking about. Curling up, running away are fine if you don't want to fight/are outmatched, but do something.

I'm sorry, but if something like that makes me cringe (not the video, but real person), then I am truly a pansy. Despite my weightliftin obsessions, I absolutely hate violence (especially gang-ups and what not). I just can't watch that stuff in real life. I felt really bad for that guy in the video, and honestly, I think he did a very brave thing.

This about sums it up for me.

I can watch like UFC. But if I watch some helpless guy get his ass beat, then I get that feeling.

Anyone can sit there and get punched in the face. What exactly was brave about that?

I can't. There are a lot of people who can't sit around getting the **** kicked out of them. That's why peaceful protests were so novel: they were getting this living daylights knocked out of them constantly and did very little in return. It's not easy work--or at least I think--getting the **** knocked out of you. I, personally, would have run. He was easily outnumbered (it looked like), easisly outstrengthed... I just believe it takes a lot of guts to not perpetuate violence. I think the easy scapegoat is retaliation. Of course, don't get me wrong, I do believe there is a time and place for things that needest be done, but more often than not, I believe not so.

(What is up with the forums? I have crazy attacking smilies in my post that I don't have code for--I think--but, I guess it makes sense the way it is--and FigherInSnatch posted 3 times the same thing.)

Makes me wonder what the point of them making that video was? To prove what a bunch of chicken **** scum they are for ganging up to beat someone who was clearly not going to fight back, what with being out-numbered?

Knowing what the Internet's like these days, some gang probably recognised them and payed them a visit.. or is that just wishful thinking.. ?

I've seen so many things online that I've really desensitized to it all now. I forced myself to stop watching videos for a couple months because it was bothering me how little reaction I had to watching some horrible things online. I still cringe to some things, but usually it takes a lot more than blunt trama to do it. Does it make you a panzy if you cringe? No, it just makes you more sensitive than someone else. Everyone has a comfort level with any given situation. You can either endorse it or change it.

Yes, you are a pansy, but not because of this.

Nah man I'm done with PCT. It has nothing to do with that at this point.
I don't think I'm a pussy because of the fact that I'm not afraid to defend myself in a fight.
I was just wondering if anyone ever got these kinds of feelings in their gut when they watch bareknuckel fights or like Jorge said "gang beatings".

I've also watched a lot of disgusting things online, and it is kind of scary how desensitized you get to it. I could eat a three course meal while browsing ogrish.com, and this is NOT a good thing. It's sick. It's addicting though.

I get pissed off when I watch fight videos too, which is why I stopped.

I get that feeling not because I'm a pansy, but because it sickens me how cowardly some people are that they need to gang beat someone. It's something that always bothered me, and about a month and a half ago I got jumped by 4 guys and got my nose broken for no good reason, so now I really hate it.

Watching that video also pisses me off because that guy won't do anything about it. I know he's outnumbered but he could still run away, or better yet run inside the club where the bouncers will surely put an end to it.

Philster, I see what you mean about the smilies.

The fighting doesn't make me sick, but if I see a video of a gang jumping on some poor slob, I actually have to control myself not getting mad.....

I'd just love to get a few 'friends' from our club and take on the 'tough' guys (which isn't going to happen of course - but it would be nice none the less)...

Thats why I dont watch those vids anymore, its just stupid....

As for the UFC/Pride/Bareknuckle, it doesn't bother me....

    Peace out...

That video is disturbing. I hate seeing violence without there being a little T&A. What's the point without gratutious nudity?

It doesn't make me gringe, it makes me mad. Not mad at the guy receiving the punishment (although In a way yes, because he could have ran away), but mad at the people ganging up on him. If I were to see something like that, I would defiantly intervene. I don't really care what risk I put myself at (go ahead, call me stupid), but I would never be able forgive myself if I hadn't intervened and the person got killed or suffered a life long injury. Although I guess it depends on if the person did anything to deserve it or not. Like for example, I watched this one video where people were beating the crap out of this guy, but it was becaused he raped a girl. I wouldn't feel bad for him at all.

It seemed that was why no one helped, because it was a couple of guys ganging up on him. I could care less how big the crowd is.

1vs1 I dont mind watching. But when its an unfair fight, like the one in that vid (clealy more of "them" them him) I hate to see it.

I dont see why he was just taking all for though. Shouldn't your basic animal instincts kick in and go ape sh!t at that guy?
