Figured I'd post this here instead of General Health, as most of the guys who come through here are into some type of competition training and not just heavy lifting.
Was curious as to what everybody's Blood Pressure and resting heart rate was. I just had mine done the other day and here was the results:
Blood Pressure- 96/48
Resting Heart Rate- 52bpm
Cholesterol- Low LDLs but slightly elevated HDLs
I'd really like to get my RHR down into the mid 40s.
Fuck, fight, or hold the light.
High HDL is a good thing, the higher the better.
Sounds like good numbers. Why would you want to get your resting heart rate in the mid 40's?

Because he thinks it will have an impact on his performance.
Mine are pretty similar, although I don't have the exact numbers with me. It's interesting, but I wouldn't spend a lot of time trying to change any of them unless you were in the danger zone.

Do these numbers affect perfomance at all?

Not as far as strength goes. For GPP and cardiovascular performance the numbers are an indicator of the bodies ability to distribute and use oxygen at rest. The lower the numbers, the more efficient your body is at it and the better one's LIKELY threshold for aerobic performance will be.Originally Posted by laxguy1028

Let's not forget that a nice and healthy heart rate and BP helps everything from sex drive to risk of heart failure to risk of death by shock to lifespan.
Being dead reduces your strength performance to 0, after all, so I'd say these numbers matter.![]()
