Is this safe and ok to do?

Ok, last night I couldn't get to sleep after work so at 2am I decided to stay up until the gym opened at 6am. I ate, drank fluids, consumed my supplements and then off I went to the gym and had a decent workout. Is this safe to do, working out in the morning on no sleep? I was concerned that I might injure something, but everything went pretty smoothly. The ginseng and coffee helped keep my energy up. This is something I won't do regulary, but if no one sees any problems with it I might do it once in awhile.
    Any suggestions or thoughts appreciated.

you say 'after work you couldnt sleep' ?

    do you work nights?

if this is the case i guess its just like a normal 9-5 er going to the gym late at night before bed. (i go around 8.30-9pm) but you should be working out when your energy levels are high not depleted.

Obviously not ideal, but probably not a big deal.

I've done it a few times myself.
