hi,
ive been training for almost two years now........im a completely natural trainer (never taken any supplements of any sort or any steroids or performance enhancing drugs). I havent taken any length of time off in this 2 year period. All is going well with my training. Only thing that bugs me, is that the peaks of my biceps just dont seem to be growing. If i flex the arm, then its hard to see the peaks of the biceps. My arms have definately got bigger though. Its not as if im not lifting much. For example, heres a breakdown of what i commonly perform on bicep day.
single arm dumbell curl:- (3*8) 22kg (could do 24kg now)
single arm preacher curl (concentrated curls):- (3*8) 20kg (could do 22kg now)
double arm ez bar curls:- (3*8) 55kg
etc. you get the idea.
i cant understand why i cant seem to develop a peak. When my gym buddy flexes his arm, you can clearly see the peaks of his biceps.

Genetics, body fat, and overworking your biceps. Drop or lower the direct arm work, focus on your back and biceps will follow.

Some guys have good peaks, some guys don't. If your arms are growing than you're doing well. If over time you find your biceps lack a good peak it's likely due to genetics.
Its a genetic thing, bro. Either you have peaks or you don't, sorry to disappoint you.
Bicep day?
It's right after anterior deltoid day.Originally Posted by Turnip
Just my opinion, but you're shooting yourself in the foot if you aren't taking creatine. Perfectly safe suuplement and one of the few supplements that actually works. You'll see solid gains in all of your lifts within a few weeks.Originally Posted by cannon
Damn. I haven't seen one of these threads in a while..lol
For me, it's interesting to see what results people can get without supplements even if there are a good variety of good ones on the market.Originally Posted by Buzzsaw

You would sacrifice your possible gains just for amusement of seeing how much others can beat you?

I am with the idea of genetic and/or maybe overtraining. But I do not know how true this is but I read it a while ago...but while doing curls only going roughly 3/4 up and holding it for a second at the top of your rep was good for developing peaks. How true that is I dunno...but maybe give it a shot for a month and let me know...
Lol. No, don't give it a shot.Originally Posted by bics56
Bicep peak is 100% genetic. Some people have short heads with high peaks, and others have long heads without peaks. Just the way your born.
