    Weightlifting Incresing Testosterone Question

So it's a pretty well-known fact that weightlifting, especially compound exercises, increase the levels of testosterone within us. So my question is *how much* does this level of testosterone tend to chance and for how long?
Now obviously I realize that everyone is different but I just want rough estimates. Are we talking 2% increase? 10%? 50%? 200%? Just a ballpark answer. Same thing goes for duration. If anyone here can give me a solid answer with a cited source that'd be great. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Another question: for the average test user, how much more testosterone do they end up with in their system than the natural levels?

I don't know the answer to your first question, but you generally need to raise your levels 400 to 500% to see muscle growth. Hence the 400 to 500mg amount that is ran in a standard cycle.

I also know from 30 years of weight lifting that the answer to your first question will be, not enough to get above average musclular growth.

Where did you hear any of that? Are you implying we only have 1mg of test usually...what??

That would actually work out to about 100mg per week (not 1mg), which is rounding up from the average of 70mg per week most men produce naturally.

As far as the rest goes, how many pepole do you know who can make gains from 200 or 300mg of test per week? There may be some, but the average person needs 400 to 500mg per week to start making progress. Personally, I can't gain from amounts that low. My first cycle was 500mg per week and I could not tell any difference between being off and on.

I couldn't find the exact answer, but these are all the articles on Pubmed related to squats and testosterone:
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/q...m_uid=12905088

Honestly, I'm sure it's not more than a 5% increase over baseline. Test levels also drop back down to their original levels less than an hour after exercise, anyway (that was in one of the articles listed above).

My understanding is that the increase in testosterone from heavy compound lifts is insignificant.
