    Medium-high reps, good enough?

I want to gain size and tone. I know that lifting low reps, high weights will give more muscle but not tone. I also know that high reps and lower weights give more tone.

    Is there a perfect balance?
My friends tell me that I have size but not alot of definition.... The thing is I life between 10-12 reps.

Is this how my body naturally builds muscle?

You get "toned" by your diet, you build muscle from lifting weights. So if you want to get "ripped" work on your diet
    Weight:207
    375/300/365 Goal by summer:415/315/415

You don't know this because it isn't true. High reps will not tone you up. This is the probably the biggest myth in weight training. A muscle can do three things - get bigger, get smaller, or stay the same size. How "toned" someone appears is entirely due to the level of bodyfat. Cut the fat, and you will appear to be "toned."

Exactly. You don't have definition because you're too fat. It has nothing to do with the number of reps you're doing.

FYI, I actually ripped the "get bigger, get smaller, or stay the same size" bit off of someone else on these boards, lol. I can't remeber who though, it was when I was still lurking. I couldn't sleep at night letting you think I came up with that all by myself, LOL!

and/or you don't have enough lean muscle to 'show off'.

as long as you have a 'healthy' amount of lean muscle, shed the bodyfat to look toned.

if you're anorexic, you don't look toned due to lack of muscle tissue, not too much bodyfat.
