That's a great article - I particularly enjoyed the discussion of the caffeine nap - what a great idea! Guarantees you'll actually wake UP!
I actually do this with the snooze button in the morning - wake up, knock back caffeine, hit snooze ... by the time it goes off, I'm a LOT less likely to toss the contraption across the room.
I'm a big fan of the deluxe nap, like to do it whenever I can fit it in!

I'm all about the nap and think sleeping in general isn't given enough focus in training. I have a full cycle of a little over an hour every afternoon. A lot easier here in Spain, I don't know how I'll manage when I go back to 8 hour solid days in the states! It's great to see someone putting a second sleep in positive light when napping can get you so easily pinned as lazy.

My wrists hurt, but some people don't have wrists to be sore. My knees have tendinitis, but some people don't have legs to get tendinitis in. I seem to be going backwards with training, yet some people can't even walk let alone lift 400 pounds on a daily basis.
Dust out the vagina, and keep on lifting.
Awesome article. I have trained my body for a 20 minute nap in the afternoon. The best thing ever! However, a 1 hour or longer naps on the couch usually leave me completely drained for the rest of the day. I guess I can account that to the Sleep Inertia.
BTW has anyone else experienced an interesting feeling in the muscles at the end of the short nap - it feels like the muscles are moving - not contracting though but relaxing. and not actual muscles but feels like something inside the muscle - where you can't conciousely control it. I love that feeling but I don't know what it is though.

I'm the weekend napper. Sometimes up to 3 naps on either or both saturday or sunday! and usually 1-3 times during the week.

Quite a bad cycle really. But the afternoon siesta was the funnest bit.

Yeh, I was napping alot 6 months ago and felt awesome.... Not as much in the last few months and I seem to be slowing down a bit....
