    lbs/week for a bulk??

Hi I weight about 172 lbs and I am currently starting a bulk to try to get to about 195. I am using a diet of 3000 cals...100g fat...350 carbs...175+ g protein. How mant pounds per week should I aim for and what would be considered gaining too much per week? tuttut

    Thanks

I have been bulking from 155 lbs in July. I am now 185 lbs. My goal is 200 lbs by Dec 31st of this year. I guess you can use me as an example since I haven't got really fat in that time, but I have been using lots of supplements among other things. I also eat like an animal.

About 1-2 lbs/week is considered optimal, although some would consider 2 lbs to be too much.

Ok thanks. I will aim for no more than 2 lbs per week. Also should I consider Weight Gainer while trying to bulk or will that just give me unwanted fat? Or just stick to the food?

You can gain all the weight you want without supplements. If your diet sucks, so will your results. Weight gainers make gaining weight convenient by packing some 1500 calories into a glass. Personally, I see no need for a weight gainer until you're eating 5000+ a day. I'm currently eating 3500-3750 and occasionally use a protein supplement.

IMO do it with food. If you can't make your own weight gainer with milk, oats, protein powder, olive oil, fruit, whatever.
