I've probably said it before, but....

I wouldn't make my own worst enemy do squats in a Smith machine. Simple answer: bad things to your body.

Where are you at in Pittsburgh? That's where I'm from.

Lots of decent gyms around this area. The Martial Arts and Sports Complex in Bridgeville is great for Olympic weightlifting. There's a gym along Route 19 near Wexford that only charges $149 for the year if you're a student, regular rate is $399. Nice place there too, among many things they've got two power racks, a huge selection of dumbbells, and a boxing area. There's also a place called Platinum which is fairly decent as well.

If you ever want to try out some strongman, let me know. There's a group of us that all trains together. The usual group is two amateur strongman, one aspiring, and his girlfriend who's a powerlifter. I've got a log, yoke, farmer's walks, keg, Atlas stone, sled, whole nine yards.

Cool recommendations. I will check those places out. Platinum is like 19 minutes from my house so I will see that place first.

By strongman, you mean World's Strongest Man competition? That is crazy. I gotta get bigger first. I can only squat 135 lbs.

The girl who trains with us is only 105 pounds.

She deadlifts 292 though, but that's a different story

Still can't hurt to try though.
