    Gaining LBM while cutting

How much LBM can one gain during a cut? Would there even be any muscle growth?

I made some great lbm increases while cutting when I was new. I think it was the weekly cheat meal (giving the body something extra to play with), in all honesty. My cuts are never stellar... 20 pounds in six months isn't the desired 1 lb a week. In a strict cut with no days of caloric excess... well... the laws of thermodynamics say 'none'. You can't make muscles out of air.

Thats a hottly debated topic. Most people take the stance that all you can hope to do during a cut is to maintain muscle mass while losing fat.

if your meaning how much is it possible to gain during a cut, then a good amount - over the last couple of weeks ive gone from 239lbs, to 248lbs, both weigh in's being at the same time, with the same amount of food (not a lot compared to bulk food), and i lost another half inch from my waist

for the most part people cant add any beef while cutting - the way i do it is to eat a good amount (totally clean though) the next day or 2 after a big training session, so even though im mainly doing this to recover quicker (to do my job), i am also cycling a bulk / cut
