    My waist is getting THICK!

Used to be I could wear a 32, measured my waist today and it is now up to 39 1/2"! I have poked and prodded at it and I can't tell that I'm carrying any more fat than I was at 32. Seems to be the exact same amount (not fat fat, just normal body fat).

Is this normal? My deadlift has gone up by a hundred pounds in the last few months. I can't think of anything else that would build muscle around the waist.

I don't think ass gets measured in your waist, unless you have an extremely high ass.

It doesn't make sense that you could go from a 32 to a 39 and hardly notice...how are you fitting in your pants?

Either subcutaneous fat or visceral fat. You probably but on some mass on your weight, but you definitely gained fat. Do you have love handles?

Sounds like you have a lot more fat down there unless you're also incredibly bulked out all over the rest of your body...

Might be time to start a cutting phase.

The waist never lies. It's definitely "fat fat."

I didn't realize how much fat I was really carrying in my waist until I actually tried to lose it all. The before and after pics didn't lie

My initial bodyfat estimate was way too low, and I had also underestimated how much fat I had gained on my waist.

Wearing a 32 inch waist pants doesn't meen your waist is 32 inches. I wear 34's, and when I measured my waist, it was actually around 37 or so.

It's always been backwards for me. I'm around 33" but feel comfortable in 34s...well used to, since now my legs and sack don't agree with them.

I think you guys are right, it must be fat. Since I'm on the ecto side maybe "eat like hell" isn't good advice for me. I'm going to cut back to "eat like normal" and see if I can keep the gains going. Or maybe I'll go on a cut in a week or two, but I've started setting new pr's recently and don't want to stop.

Thanks for being there with my wake up call guys.

bloodninja - the 32's are worn out, I don't wear them anymore. I've got a pair of 34's I can't close at all, but a pair of 33's I fit into fine (thought they were larger, like 36 or so, but I checked and they're 33).

It depends on where you wear your pants...few guys actually wear their pants at their waist.
