    Help me fix my deadlift

Here is the video, its only of 70 lbs since thats all my parents have at their house and this was the first time I was able to use my laptop to shoot it. WARNING! I am in just my boxer-briefs since I felt you could really see the positioning of my back and legs and see where im going wrong...

    http://media.putfile.com/helpmydead

This is the first time I have video-taped me deadlifting, and it looks (and feels) like I am not doing it right, even when im only doing 70 lbs. I stopped doing deadlifts probably about 5 months ago and started back up again about 3 weeks ago. I dont know if some of the muscles just atrophied or if I have always had bad form...

Anyway, can anyone suggest ways to fix this? I feel like I cant keep my lower back rounded no matter how hard I focus on trying, even with a light weight. Here are a few possible reasons I feel could be the culprit:
    a) Bad form, bad setup
    b) Weak lower back
    c) Weak hamstrings
    d) Possibly weak upper back (unsure how much of a factor this is)
    e) Very (very!) limited flexibility

any ways to help me fix this?

With only 70 lbs. you're not using bigger plates. If you use bigger plates the barbell would be higher off the ground. Making it easier to arch the back.

The lower back doesn't need to be arched, as long as it's straight, and as long as it doesn't ROUND.

Just my 0.000002 cents someone else would be able to get a better advice.

BTW I think your form looks fine...

do some weighted hyperextentions, that will help strengthen your lower back!your deadlift will in turn progressively get better!

since you mention you have weak hamstrings, what kind of work due for them? mind posting you entire routine?
The Iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told you're a god or a total bastard. The Iron will always kick you the real deal. The Iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the Iron to be a good friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds.

You look big enough to do a lot more weight. When you have more weight, I think we can all better analyze your form since 70 lbs can be lifted with one hand by even beginners.

From 155 lbs to 200 lbs (PICS/VIDS INCLUDED)

    Height: 6'0"; BW: 202lbs; Age: 24; BF: ~11%
    155lbs [07-01-06] 176lbs [09-14-06] 179lbs [09-21-06] 182lbs [10-02-06] 184lbs [10-18-06] 186lbs [10-23-06] 187lbs [11-08-06] 189lbs [11-19-06] 190lbs [11-21-06] 191lbs [12-21-06] 194lbs [12-31-06]

Bench: 250lbs; Squat: 350lbs lbs; Deadlift: 430 lbs

    Military: 111lbsx8; Dips: BWx30; Pullups: BWx10; WChestP: 360lbsx7; 45LegP: 470lbsx20; C Raise: 360lbs; BB Curl: 105lbsx3; Lat Pull: 195lbsx5

yea i usually can do 225 for about 5 reps, but as i said, i was at home for this weekend. i go to my universities gym.
anyway, for my workout, this semester has been real busy, so i dont have much time to go to the gym like i used to (and would like to). i wake up at 6:00 a.m. twice a week and do the following
    squats or deadlift
    bench press
    rows
    pulldowns
    military press
    straight leg dead lifts
finish off with a set of biceps, triceps, and calves

im also trying to lose weight. and its hard getting in real good workouts that early and on a cut also...

i think the hyperextensions would be a good idea though. i dont think im hitting my hamstrings quite enough.
    thanks for the suggestions though!

ok well for some reaosn my computer wouldnt let me see the video

but what caught my attention first was the comment about trying to round your back- you do not want your back to be rounded when doing deadlifts you want it flat like someone else said- if you round your back you risk hurting your back

wish i could see the video the i could help more
Way down this road, in a gym far away, a young man was once heard to say, "I've repped high and I've repped low, No matter what I do my legs won't grow."

He tried leg extensions, leg curls, and leg presses, too. Trying to cheat these sissy workouts he'd do. From the corner of the gym where the big men train, Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain.

Where the big iron rides high and threatens lives, Where the noise is made with big forty fives. A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees, A very big man with legs like trees.

Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack, Chalking his hands and monstrous back, Said "Boy stop lying and don't say you've forgotten, Trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN"

yes i can see it now

i think your back position is good the only thing I would change would be on the way down the first thing that you move is you upper body, move your legs first meaning squat down first and keep your head and chest up

    does that make sense?
