    I Squatted!!!

    AND IT DIDNT HURT!

For those of you who dont know I was under "Doctors orders" not to do any deep flexion exercises, squat and deadlift were specifically mentioned. Well, My knee has been pretty good over the last little while and I am already for sure in for surgery.... So today while I was doing pullups and watching my workout buddy squat I decided:

    **** it.

    I want to squat.

So I walked over there and pumped it out, did a full leg day on WBB 1 and it didnt hurt a single bit! Thats Squats, hack squats, SLDLs and calf raises! Mind you, Im not going to know if I did anything bad until tomorrow, but even 7 hours later, I cant feel ANYTHING!

And Ill tell ya what; I had a hugeass stupid grin on my face the whole time!

I just had to tell you guys... I was so happy.... If it hurts tomorrow then I can say I tried, and know better next time but if it doesnt then Im going to start WBB1 this friday and keep going with it till my knee dies.

    SCREW NO SQUATTING!!! *muahahaha*

I have a friend who was told not to squat, i've been attempting to convice him other wise.

Most doctors look at the phycis of it, 200 Lbs on your back? More pressure on your knees, well yea that maybe true but it also helps increase bone desnity etc.

Squats are gods gift to man, and deadlifts too, keep it up.

Eventually you'd have to get a counter, instead of a spotter if you followed his advice.

Yes, today im feeling pretty good.. Legs are sore but I dont think its in a bad "your knee is going to kill you for hurting it" way. I think im going to try WBB 1 for the next couple weeks and see how it goes, I wont squat 'heavy' yet just so I can make sure that Im not destroying myself but the outlook is good.

    Damn am I glad!

Thanks Jordan! Im totally ecstatic, the legs are sore but its nothing more then the usual! *jumps* I decided to give it a two week trial, not lifting to my maximum potential but enough to strain a bit... This way if my knee cops out at least I wont have a ton of weight on my back!

As for the kiss part... Well, Im definately gonna kiss him, but not for you :P Hed be liable to run to wherever you are to kick your tush in... He doesnt like affection from guys But as for whether or not hes happy for me.... I have nooo clue...

    Risk-
THAT kind of tweaked.. I know what thats like *pats* RICE!!! Do RICE!!! It works every time And take it easy from the leg work for a week, im sure it will stop screaming soon

When I Was in 7th grade I was a point guard in basketball, my team was playing against the boys team at our school and as I was going in to catch a pass, some 250 lb guy (keep in mind I was MAYBE 90 lbs) ran into me and then fell on top of me. My knee twisted very akwardly behind me, and I put a lot of torque on my knee-cap (they actually thought I might have broken it so I got an xray done). I had to walk on crutches for a week and have suffered knee pain ever since then.

now, this being Canada, when I finally got into the specialist after a 6+ month wait I had him tell me that my problem would even itself out in time. At the time he assumed (without Xrays or anything) that it was a common problem in young girls where the knee cap runs off its track. He thought that the basketball accident had nothign to do with it; seems he was an idiot.

The pain never went away so I went back a couple years later (like he said) and then he decided that it was a problem with my knee cap, probably from this basketball incident, but that I was still too young to operate because I might outgrow it.

Fast forward to this year, I waited for close to 10 months to see this doc after extreme pain in my knee, and a car accident where I jammed my knee pretty hard. He said that normallly he STILL wouldnt do surgery on someone my age but because this is obviously a consistent problem he wanted to fix it. He finally had x-rays taken and noticed that my knee cap was extremely rough on the bottom side, and from the tests he was doing on my knee he also saw that the basketball incident had more-then-likely caused scar tissue which was now pulling on my knee cap too hard. This pressure was causing me severe pain with repeted impact (ie running) or deep flexion.

So I have about 5ish months in which I will have surgery (dont know when though), he'll be doing arthroscopy and drilling a hole in the bottom half of my knee cap, then shaving it out to make it a smooth surface (he may or may not do this on my left knee as well). Then he will be doing a lateral release on my knee... I hope to God this works because if it doesnt then I will have to have a complete reconstruction :S.

Ive been extremely careful with my leg, trying to avoid aggravating it and I have been taking long-lasting ibuprofin for the 30 days. The pain is currently all but gone, except I still have to baby my knee along, which gets extremely irritating....
