Lastnight I swung by to pick up some whey protein and creatine, my total bill was 60 sometime. A couple hours prior to this at my house I put 5 20's in my wallet. And they were fresh off the print and stuck to each other, so I handed the guy all 5 of them instead of the 4 that I thought I had counted off. And I got a 10 and a few one's back. And when I put the money away in my wallet I noticed just some ones in there. I immediately went back in the store and asked the guy to check if I gave him too many 20's. He got out a calculator and counted his drawer in like a minute.. which makes me wonder if he actually did it all that correctly. Then told me he wasn't over any at all. I knew right there he pocketed the 20 then. And was like well let's hope you just left it behind at home and put a big ol' smile on then. And I walked out pissed off. I didn't open my wallet from the time I put the 20's in my wallet from my house til I was checking out at GNC. Worst part of all, I was ripped off in Hollister a few weeks ago too out of about 40 some dollars.
Sorry to hear it, bro - buy with plastic next go-round.

or dont go to GNC... online is the way to go. Much better selection, waaay cheaper, you dont have to go anywhere, and you dont have to worry about your bills sticking together.

Check with the store manager to see if they have a camera on the register, and if the guy pocketed it, get him fired.

theres your problem gnc anf holister both way over priced!!!!!
Way down this road, in a gym far away, a young man was once heard to say, "I've repped high and I've repped low, No matter what I do my legs won't grow."
He tried leg extensions, leg curls, and leg presses, too. Trying to cheat these sissy workouts he'd do. From the corner of the gym where the big men train, Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain.
Where the big iron rides high and threatens lives, Where the noise is made with big forty fives. A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees, A very big man with legs like trees.
Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack, Chalking his hands and monstrous back, Said "Boy stop lying and don't say you've forgotten, Trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN"

Talk to his manager....
He probably figured that 60 dollars was cheaper than a normal purchase at GNC so he decded to keep an extra 20.
Firebomb the dudes car. He will cry like a little school girl.

I never shop at GNC. I get all my **** from a smaller store. Waaaaay cheaper. ON Whey is around 22 bucks at the smaller store and around 40+ at GNC.
There's a GNC in the mall where I live and right across the street is a supplement store called "Hi-Health" on the outside part of the mall, where all the same freaking products are half the price or so than GNC (or not only are they cheaper, but better quality as well). I don't know why anyone even bothers going to GNC with the other store so close.

WTF would blame GNC for you ignorance for??? Hahha ...ok
Walk in there and JUST BEAT THE EVER LIVING SNOT OUT OF THE GUY! Don't ask any questions, just waltz in there and drop haymaker after haymaker! Make this guy kiss the curb then stomp the back of his skull! Then when he is writhing in pain on the ground, cut off his ears and make a necklace out of it. Or I suppose you could go in there and ask if there was some kind of misunderstanding, but beating the bag out of this imbecile would be much more cool and grand theft autoish wouldn't you say?

Deadlifts bring people together. It's a fact. - Chris Rodgers
I work at a gas station, and I actually run people down if I realize that they have overpaid. One guy gave me a 20 which was folded in half, for $20 of gas, and it turned out there was another 20 in there. I caught him just before he drove off. Hell, I run people down over small amounts like 50 cents (people often pay what they think is exact change for car wash tokens which are $1.25 each and walk off, but a lot of people are terrible at doing math in their head). I wouldn't feel right otherwise. Any one who would do differently can go to hell.
Something that most people don't realize is that GNC doesn't actually sell nutritional supplements. Sure, they have a mortar and brick edifice in which there are tubs of protein powder and creatine with stickered prices on them, but what they're *really* selling is "the American dream". "Buy our stuff, and you, too, will be thin and beautiful!"
Actually, come to think of it, lots of brands are the same way across different products. Take Tiffany's, for example - they're not selling jewelry, they're selling a little blue box. Girls don't want Tiffany's jewelry because the quality is up to 10x better than a generic competitor (I'm taking some numbers from a sterling silver necklace that I purchased), but because said necklace comes in a little blue box with the Tiffany's name on it.
This is how GNC gets away with charging 2x as much as online competitors - the average consumer will look at the name and have an *immediate* reaction along the lines of "Ooooh, healthy...fit...thin... THAT COULD BE ME!" As an educated consumer, you know that the name on the store's sign is largely meaningless, so you buy the same stuff cheaper elsewhere, but you have to admit, GNC is a fantastically successful brand, and they've marketed themselves perfectly to the average American consumer.

But they don't only sell their products, they sell other name brand products as well, and they still sell the SAME BRAND PRODUCTS for a lot more than the store across the street. For istance, Muscle Milk at GNC is like 35 bucks and down the street at Hi-Health, it's 24 bucks (always). This is ridiculous.
And what about grammatical ignorance?Originally Posted by Jeffreyk

i fail to see why gnc corportation is responsible for what one of their empoyees suppusely did.
to sculpt you must first have concrete
You are only as stong as your weakest joint
Why blame the entire franchise for you not keeping track of your money?

Weightlifting sucks. I just like to lift heavy things.
Right, I totally understand. GNC is a b'normous ripoff to anybody with enough brains to figure it out. I think my point is still valid, though - the average customer doesn't stop to think "Wait a minute, it would be cheaper to order this [Brand X] straight from the distributor and not from the GNC store." They merely see a GNC and think "HEALTHY!!"
I'd further conjecture that the prototypical GNC consumer is a sometime user of various supplements and buys most of their products on a whim/employee recommendation (eg., spring break is coming up, they have a wedding in 2 months, etc.). GNC is a pure monolith to the masses of consumers that just want to "GET HEALTHY!" with little direction on how to get there. When those folks think "Oh noes, I'm getting teh fat!", they run out to GNC and pick up something, this in stark contrast to geeky kids (like me!) sitting on internet forums comparing protein/gram costs across different brands of whey supplements.
At any rate, you've still gotta give it to the folks at GNC - they're selling OTHER people's things at a mark-up. They provide almost no service* and are charging money for it. It's brilliant.
*again, I'd like to say that in theory, I think the "service" that GNC provides is that they make the average consumer feel good inside. Their average consumer buys their products at a markup, but feels like *he* got the better end of the deal, because that 6pack and huge biceps are just a few protein shakes away, etc.
Anyhow, this wasn't supposed to be my economic analysis of GNC. Call up the manager - speaking from experience (I worked as a Starbucks barista for my high school years), they're generally quick to settle these things so their good name doesn't get besmirched.
