What weight would I expect to start with for these? 50% of my regular squat weight? Any experiences?

Bodyweight will be hard enough. If you can squat 225lbs, I can't see anybody doing ~112lbs single leg squat without falling over.
Look in the video section for "extremepullups" videos. He's doing single leg squats in there. They're hard.
My 1RM for regular back squats is 270. I did one legged with dumbells (other foot up on a bench behind me) and ws using 40 lb dumbells for my working set. I thought it was going to be a warmup![]()
Are you doing pistols (free leg is straight in front, not touching ground) or are you doing a lunge type thing like redspikey described?
If pistols, it's highly unlikely you'll be able to do them without weight, let alone 50% of your back squat weight.

Not pistols, I was gonna do them with the off toe behind me on a bench or box. I just did Crossfit's WOD ten minutes ago (a 3 round Jackie, subbing SDLHPs for the rowing, plus thrusters), so I doubt my quads will be able to take it tomorrow as I had planned. Maybe Sunday-monday. My ass is whipped right now.
