Snow Day!!!!
we have a snow day today due to the several inches we got last nite and its still coming down pretty hard. this is the only time i appreciate my broken leg cause that means i dont have to go outside and shovel the driveway

I hope I don't have class today........I'm sure my college is going to be anal and still have school. They NEVER call a delay/off. But when I go outside...if I skid or slip just once I'm ducking outta school. The roads are dangerous enough without me skidding all over the place. I'll probably go to the gym instead which is much closer.

Haha, ain't that the truth. I go to grad. school in Davenport, IA and we were the only school in Davenport that wasn't closed today. Even the university that is about a quarter mile away was closed. Talk about gettin the shaft...

I don't think my college closed either. Idiots I swear, since pretty much every other surrounding schools/business's closed early.....the roads were crap too. So i said screw em and stayed home. I mean the roads weren't THAT bad but I'm not going to go out of my way to get to class. So if I have a valid excuse like today, I'll take it and stay home. Originally Posted by Gettin' Big

The weather ****ing sucks. I couldn't go to work today, they closed the center. Unfortunately, it looks like I might have to call in tomorrow also...which is going to cost a good chunk of cash. On a good day, it takes 45 minutes to get to work. In this weather...minimum of an hour and a half.

I called out of work today: I walked out this morning to my car and found that it's covered by a nice thick sheet of ice... I couldn't scrape it off and I didn't want to deal with an hour-long defrosting session. The worst part would be that even if I did defrost it and go to work I'd have to do it again after work because the freezing rain will be going all day.

Doesn't that piss you off???? My school is the same way. Everything was covered when I woke up this morning and it was still coming down. And when I check the website what does it say?? Classes are running on schedule. They're crazy if they think i'm driving to class in this weather.
Then again maybe we shouldn't complain. Most of us would still make the trip to the gym even though its snowing. So if I'm willing to go anywhere outside the house I should of been willing to go to class.

We're supposed to get over 12" on top of the 5 inches we already have. Everything in my town is closed, except my work! :P Figures. I'm loving driving in this stuff, though. Subaru's rock in the snow.

This was kind of my first snow storm and my second snow day since I moved here. It was...errr, amusing to say the least. I took 3 pictures from out my bedroom window of Lake Michigan. The first is clear skies and snow covering the frozen lake. The second shows the snow starting to come down, and the third is kindofwhiteout, or whatever. I'm new to this snow thing.

Bill, you must be quite familiar with Snow Days then. I'm glad I don't live in upstate NY.
They let me off work at lunchtime today so I was happy. They also cancelled classes at U of I today and tomorrow, the first time they've had snow days since 1979.
I also just got done shovelling 2 feet of snow off my driveway, which is 80 feet long. GREAT GPP!!!5'9" 195 lbs
