    Knives and Flashlights!

So I thought it would be cool to see if anyone else carried a pocket knife or flashlight. I carry both when appropriate.
I currently own a full sized Kershaw Ken Onion Rainbow, a small Browning model 374, and a small LED Maglite.
I'm looking to buy a Surefire flashlight within the next few weeks. These are said to be the best flashlights money can buy. Most retail between $100-$200 and some are even more.

So what kind of gear do you guys own?

Up until Friday night, I carried a Nickel-handled Rostfrei half-serrated 5" balisong but I lost it. I guess I'll end up picking up a Benchmade Model 42 or a Spyderco Spyderfly since those are the two I want.

Umm why do you guys carry knives? You live in tough neighborhoods or you just can't defend yourself with fists?

Why do you assume it has anything to do with defense? A knife is as much a tool as a weapon.

EDIT: I'll go ahead and add that I've openly challenged people in non-combative draws, and I've been able to draw and open my bali faster than my friend could draw his gun or a ballistic stiletto (switchblade). That only means I can if I have to, but defense isn't the driving force because I'm not paranoid like so many other people.

Yeah its nice to know you have it in case of something like that but I use mine for opening boxes, packages, cleaning under my fingernails, cutting steak or chicken (dont worry I clean it first), string, and cutting caluses.

I have an Alaskan knife that my dad gave me for my birthday. It's really nice, but I haven't used it much.

A while back my Father subscribed to a magazine called "Knife Works". He got all sorts of knives out of it. A lot of them I have now. On one of his birthdays we got him a nice fixed blade knife that we thought was only 6-8" long. When it came in the mail I was in shock. The thing looks like it's only purpose is for skinning elephants. The blade alone is is about 12" long. Nice knife none the less.

A knife isn't adequate for self defense-but as a kid this was the best thing I could get my hands on. I was kinda a fanatic. I bought the biggest one in this picture when I was in 5th grade. These are the only 3 I have left. I use to have 20 or 30.

Hmmm. Here are the ones that I carry around frequently.
Right now, the razor knife is the favorite.
The Smith and Wesson one (black) I found one day and now I dig it.

    I do pullups and stuff.

Does anyone watch the knife collectors show on the home shopping channel? This is funnier than most of the programs on comedy central. They sell packages of 260 knives that includes huge swords for $150.00. The whole time they rant and rave about how high quality they are and that they're the "best knives around"-despite the fact that they're selling them for less than 2 dollars each. If you've ever watched the show you have to see this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gHtf4IIYNY

I actually don't think he was hurt, he was just so embarrassed he didn't know what to do.

I carry a Winchester that is half serrated, comes in handy at work all the time. My wife gave it to me for something. I don't carry my maglite on me but it is always in the vehicle.

Hahn you should look into buying a pocket knife. Get yourself a Kershaw. I've never seen a company have as good as customer service as Kershaw.
I bent the tip of my Onion and mailed it off with a letter describing what happened. Within 3 days I had a brand new knife with no questions asked.

This is me and my essential pocket knife collection:

More recently i discovered this little toy, which i traded my above pocket knife collection for:

I feel alot safer with this in my backpack, i can chop up small fruit and when i walk home at night through a park, or ghetto alley, i can pull this bad boy out and wreak havoc in an instant.

You can get one for as little as 3 payments of $19.99.

I like this flashlight the most. Its alot of fun for slumber parties or for just plain out keeping the gremlins under the bed at bay, on a sleepless night

I carry one of these at work. Great quality, and the Marlin spike is worth its weight in gold when working wioth ropes, which is everyday for me.

i have a Walther - i dont use it all that much tho
Way down this road, in a gym far away, a young man was once heard to say, "I've repped high and I've repped low, No matter what I do my legs won't grow."

He tried leg extensions, leg curls, and leg presses, too. Trying to cheat these sissy workouts he'd do. From the corner of the gym where the big men train, Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain.

Where the big iron rides high and threatens lives, Where the noise is made with big forty fives. A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees, A very big man with legs like trees.

Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack, Chalking his hands and monstrous back, Said "Boy stop lying and don't say you've forgotten, Trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN"
