    Running

didn't know what to put this under because i am working on maintaining calories this week. but How long would you have to run to get the best benefit from shedding fat? 30-45 min jogs? 2 miles? What about sprints? I know that over summer i cut 20-25 lbs in two days. Water weight, but i am over weight by 255, and need some help on loosing the weight. I so far..i eat 3000 cal's a day on an average...

for someone in your sport, i would do specific drills. Sprints/shuttles, etc.The stuff you see them put LB/DE thru on the NFL combine. These are highly intense activities and should be treated as a weightliftting session, i.e. pre and post nutrition are required.

As for jogging to increase overall stamina and endurance, a 45 minute jog first thing in AM might be helpful.
