Poll Question: If you were deciding to purchase a vehicle in winter as compared to summer, would the time of the year or season cause you to possibly buy a different brand or different vehicle?
Hey all,
I'm doing a research project for one of my Consumer Behavior courses at University and I'm sort of stuck for information. The focus of the topic is: "What is the seasonal impact on consumers’ vehicle buying behaviour".
So, what we're trying to analyze is how the seasons in Canada affects people's decicions when deciding to buy a new car.
I can't find good information on this topic, so I've come to the people on WBB for some help. I know there's some good reasercher's on here![]()
Before ya go, If you could just answer the poll in this thread that would be awesome.
Thanks!

I voted no, because if I were to buy a vehicle in the summer, I'd still realize that I'd be driving it in the winter and make sure it would be able to handle it. hope that helps.

^^ I agree...but it also would depend on where I lived. I live in Boston so winters aren't too bad as far as snow all the time. We've only had maybe 3 actuall storms all winter where driving without 4-wheel drive was hard. If I lived somewhere where it snowed almost year round it would change my decision.
I said no. I would get a pickup truck in the summer or winter as long as its a 4x4 then I would get tires for it (36's and a 3'' lift) if I could afford it.
I voted no as well knowing I live in Canada and we have all seasons. I'd go into the buying decision aware I'd be driving the vehicle in all sorts of weather.
I said yes.
Of course, I'd have researched the different types of vehicles I wanted to test drive, etc. And have a pretty good idea of the type of car vehicle I wanted before I ever stepped foot on a lot. But I'm also a believe in how the weather affects me.
If I go too long w/o being in the sun (a long stretch of rain or being sick) it really gets me down and affects my mood. My personality definitely changes in the "winter months" as opposed to the summer. I don't think it would be a drastic change in the decision of which vehicle I bought; but I think it would still influence me slightly.
