Hell yeah brother.
Yeah that's what I was thinking....it looks like a porn angle or something.
This is genius. I'm gonna try this tonight. If it tastes ok, I've just managed to find a solid meal to drink 4 times per day.
F***! I pay 49 bucks for 20!!!! I don't care, it's still the greatest MRP on earth. Me too--as soon as I leave work--4 teen burgers is todays plan.
I really like Matt K's training methods. I've been using slight variations on the stuff he does, and it works real well. I've always been a big fan of hitting the accessory/assistance stuff really hard. I also used to train Dorian Yates/HIT style back in the day, so going to failure yields great results for me. Another thing I noticed, is that as soon as I've been givin' 'er on the DB Rows, my conventional deadlift is getting better--I had no idea that DB Rows helped the lockout....it never even occured to me.
for the met-rx shake, just make sure you blend it up real good, so the oats dont just sink to the bottom. whole milk makes it SO THICK, so i usually just use skim milk with it. also, ive seen the best results with a similar routine to Matt K's. i do 2 bench days, a squat day and a deadlift day. except i deadlift every week, which who knows, my back was hurting when i was doing squats last week so it might benefit me to try them every other week. i'm the same way with the DB rows, i always thought do rack pulls if you need lockout help. my lockout is probably my strongest point, like matt k i get stuck in mid-lift when i do get stuck. working til failure also provides the best results for me, i at least work to a triplet every workout.

now im eating a huge double meat burrito and a met rx shake. i wish my damn suit would hurry up and get here. any tips for the first time i lift with it?
so my suit came today, size 58 metal v-type. i open it up and try it on, its REALLY tight, i can get it all the way up in the crotch area, and its tight on the legs and hips, which is good. the only thing is i can only get one strap on. i don't know if its because i'm so tall, but of course it took me a while but i got the lower part up by myself, and i can get 1 strap, but me 2 of my friends, my mom and my dad couldn't get both straps up. i know its good for it to fit tight, and then it forms to your body...but is this too tight?
okay so after i decided not to be a b**** about putting the suit on, i got it on, everything by myself except for 1 strap. its very tight, which i dont think is a bad thing. i wore it around for about 20 minutes, im gonna start wearing it 20 or 30 minutes a day. snapped a pic, sorry its fuzzy, the flash on my camera is busted.

looking huge and mean! i cant wait to get a squat suit
2000 or bust
Sick buddy. You is a tall bastard. You could hold 330 easy. Something to shoot for. Good job on the suit, it'll get better in a few workouts.
squats
squats, parallel:
135 x 6
255 x 6
305 x 6
345 x 6 (add belt)
395 x 5 (add metal v-type, straps down)
425 x 2 (straps down)
445 x 2 (straps up)
395 x 5 (straps down)
leg press:
worked up to 1100 x 8
i felt like i could squat 445 all damn day. the only problems i have are the different feeling you get with the straps up on the suit, and the walkout. i stumbled a bit racking the 445, it kind of scared me. there is no doubt in my mind i could have gotten 500 if we had a monolift. i'm not trying to make excuses, dynabody 45 minutes away has a monolift, i'm gonna go up there this week and see if i can lift there 1 day a week or something. there are also a lot more dudes there that could help me out with my suit. not too bad of a first workout with the suit though, i need to work on my walkout.

awesome dude, im getting mine on monday with knee wraps, for narrow squatters, i want to hit 585 my first day on it!
i have high expectations lol
2000 or bust
nice dude, those metal knee wraps look badass. be cautious, the straps will f*** you up at first. thats why i didnt go too heavy today, i'm not gonna try to slap on a grand until i learn the suit.next week i think i'm gonna try some of the matt k signature oly high rep squats, and some heavy walkouts. good luck trying 585, definetely try some lighter weight first so you can get a feel for the straps.
deff man ill work up slow like i always do, but if i feel comfy all hell is breaking loose haha.
2000 or bust
thanks tommy, i was pretty happy with it. working for 1000!
also, im gonna be posting some recipes soon...i'll call them the "fat @ss series" of recipes. i've been trying to get this protein brownie thing down for a good while, and i think this time i finally got it right. either way, i've been choking down whatever i make...hell, if it has brownie mix in it, it must be good right? just know they have a lot of met-rx in them.
ps- check out this new article on elitefts, its marc bartley talking about his recent squat injury, i found it uplifting. he's very positive about getting over it, and getting back into training.

Yea, I read that article the other day. Sounds like he destroyed himself, but he's got the attitude that makes winners. HomeYield has lifted with him some, so I'll have to talk to him about everything. Nice squatting by the way. Did you feel like somebody was tying a tourniquet around your legs haha?
Fuck, fight, or hold the light.
bench
DB floor press, wrist wraps only:
40's x 8
50's x 6
60's x 6
70's x 6
80's x 6
100's x 3 (pushed real hard on these, ass came up, blew a blood vessel in the eye, SFW)
dip machine:
135 x 8
225 x 8
275 x 8
pushdowns + mini:
30 x 8
50 x 8
70 x 8
pec deck, 2 x 8
short and sweet. that was a definite PR on the floor presses, i got done with the 80's, turned up hatebreed and got to work. i can't decide if i want to do DL's with my suit or back extensions/shrugs instead. i think im gonna try doing DL's every other week, we'll see how my back is feeling tomorrow...i did a lot of foam rolling and band stuff tonight for it.
