    Can't Sleep

I can never go to sleep before 6 A.M. Even if I try to lie down in bed, I'll just be lying there for 2 hours before I give up and do something else. Anyone have any suggestions for sleep-aid?

I wake up earlier. If you wake up at 8 am every day I promise you will fall asleep before 6.

I found Ambien helps me get to sleep and stay asleep. I use it when I absolutely must get a full nite's sleep.

I say this every time that insomnia comes up:

*unplug yourself completely from tv, iPod, cellphone, computer, etc. everyday after 6pm for a week or two,
*wake up at a reasonable hour,
    *don't take naps,
    and
    *get in bed by 10pm.

A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

Sorry, I didn't realize that you work the late shift. Even so, the recommendations stand (w. modifications, of course) - Unplug yourself several hours before going to bed.

isn't it against the law for a 16 yr old to work past midnite in your state? Who do you work for? Nike?

lol there are options. When I was like 16 I worked from 4pm-2am every night and 10am-2am on Saturdays... I was making like 400+ dollars per week with nothing but a cell phone bill. Those were the days.

    Many 'under the table' jobs.

Watch the caffeine and alcohol intake it that's an issue.

I work third shift. I lift before work, and by the time I get home I'm ready to sleep.

Or, alternatively, what's the problem? If you work second shift and you sleep from 6AM to 2PM every day, you're getting your 8 hrs.

Or, if you just need to yank your sleep schedule straight, try this. When you get off on "Friday," the last day of your work week, only sleep for 2-3 hrs when you go to bed. Then get up and be active for 8-10 hrs. Go to bed at the time that you want to have as your bedtime. You should be able to sleep. You should be able to get up at the appropriate time.

hes a teenage hitman for the mob and cant sleep b/c of all the dirty work.

try seeing a doc, or actually switching ur hours or lessening them. warm milk, sexual activity, valium may help.

but i think its more of the fact that ur circadian rhythm(sp?) is ****ed up, ur hormonal sleep-wake cycle. the night is for sleeping and the day for working friend.

-serious question; do u get ur morning erection? if not do u get it randomly thru out the day if at all?

in all seriousness see a doc.

Nah, if you're 14-15 you can only work 20 hours a week and there's other limitations, but 16 year olds don't really have limitations like that.

Yeah I have my morning wood every day.

Today I woke up at 1030 with about 4-5 hours of sleep because my boss called me in because a couple people didn't show up. I should be able to sleep earlier today and maybe get my sleep cycle back on track. Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions, I would've applied to them all but that'd be repetitive so I only replied to the ones with questions. I'll probably use all the suggestions in the future, or maybe even this week. Thanks again.

Seriously, this works for both men and women.

    Any sexual activity should work.
    To clear up some confusion:
Blanche = slut on the Golden Girls
    Soprano = The Sopranos
And no, my life does not revolve around the tv.
