    Broken arm and torn tricep

I broke my arm/elbow (humerus and ulna bone) 2 1/2 months ago and had surgery to repair it (plates and screws) due to its positioning (under my tricep) and the size of my arm. I'm not sure whether they cut though the tricep or peeled it off the bone in one piece to get to the fracture. Anyways, the bone has fully healed about a month ago but my tricep is still very weak from the operation. I was barely able to bench press the bar since I felt a pinching pain in the elbow once I would reach the top of the motion. From what i've read over the internet it seems like most tears can take up to 6 monthst to completly heal. I was wondering if I will ever regain my full strength in the muscle? Would this be considered a muscle tear or is it something completly different?

How long has it taken some of you to fully reconver from any kind of muscle tears?
