ME lower - Deads
Reverse band rack pulls 135x10 225x10 315x5 405x5 455x5 495x2 *add briefs* 545x2 Sumo deads in briefs 315x5 405x2 405x2 dont like pulling in briefs yet Walking lunges 100x10 120x20 120x20 Haven't pulled in a while and it shows. I really dont like pulling conventional in the briefs, they **** with my groove. I think i'm going to stick with pulling in just my single ply v-type. It feels more natural and I get better poundages out of what little support it gives me. |

How much do you think you get out of pulling in a suit? I'm gonna get some gear this Christmas and I can't decide if I should go with some good briefs or just get a suit.

I say a good suit to start out. Are you sumo? If so, go with the single ply v-type squatter. I get about 50lbs out of mine. Not that special

Maybe just a squatter would help better then. Try making a post in the powerlifting section and see what responses you get.

your not going to get much out of gear for a conventional deadlift. I suspect I get around 20lbs-30lbs max with a metal pro deadlifter. I would just get a suit that works with your squatting style, my first suit was a metal pro squatter and I liked it.

ME squat at the anvil
squats barx10 *add briefs* 275x3 365x3 *add suit straps down* 485x2 515x1 *straps up* 575x1 525x2 - high 550x1 575x1 606x1 - high 628.5x1 YEAAA BUDDY PR! - video later That was it. Just a ****load of squats tonight. Squatting the weight is not my problem. It's the fact that my brain goes "WTF DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING PUTTING 600+lbs ON YOUR BACK!!!!!" I really need to get used to the heavier weights now. The reason for the 575,525,550,575 was becuase I couldnt get my setup properly. I was getting all ****ed and falling forward. I needed to bring my arms in a little, create a nice strong shelf, and get my hips under the bar.

great job on the squat PR!
I know that feeling you get from unracking, it does get better with more time under heavy weights, but you reach a point where the number doesn't really matter, it just feels heavy as ****. 600 and 900 feel the same on my back, f'in heavy haha |

Standups/Lockout in power rack are alright, I am not sure they ever gave me all that much though.
I think the ultimate is high band tension squats.. you don't have to do them often, if you did they would kill you anyway. Once every few months do a max effort squat day with around 225-275lbs bar weight and the rest in tension, that will get you used to heavy weights very quickly. But, its still going to feel heavy. 600lbs and 900lbs feel exactly the same to me on my back. You get to a point where your body just says "**** you! thats heavy!" and it really doesn't matter if you add more weight, its going to feel about the same. |

Alright thats good to know. The past 3 weeks i've been doing band squats with about 150-200lbs tension at the top. It kinda ****ed up my monolift setup since I really had to lean forward to unrack it. I'm thinking with what I have at the school gym, I will give heavy tension band standups on monday or tuesday. Maybe put like 315 on the bar, and go the rest with band tension. What do you think?

Yeah I think that will help somewhat, just use them ass accessory and don't be afraid to do 3-5 reps.
One thing that helped me as well was an old training partner of mine yelling "STAND UP LIKE YOU MEAN IT", dont be afraid to really put some force into that bar as you take it out of the rack. That and get your feet in the right spot, so many people have their feet a couple inches behind the bar and when you do that it becomes a bitch really quickly. When you get under the bar make sure your feet are in the right spot, and the bar is in the exact spot you like. At a meet people are always yelling "just squat it already!" when I am setting up because I spend extra time making sure everything is good. 700lbs for you soon no doubt. |

Thanks guys.
ME Bench @509 Shirted bench barx10 barx10 135x10 185x5 225x1 *add shirt* 275x3 315x1 345x1 365x1 couldnt even touch Dips BWx4 on rings lol BWx20 +25x10 +45x8 Box jumps lol Band press downs, 45lb plate raises, DB curls to finish Feeling beat up from last nights squats. I realize I cant touch **** with this shirt because it's way too small. I could touch 275 before, but not now with all the weight i've gained. I either need to bench raw at the meet, or find a different shirt to wear. **** is pissing me off |

Damn, nice job Detard, that was sooooo close to depth. Looked ****in easy on the way up.
First time you unracked it was a little scary though, lol. Looked like you were gonna take a real nasty dump with that weight.

. You're killin it lately.I agree with Selk about the band tension; a few weeks of crazy high band tension and straight weight feels like nothin haha
